Luck is a lady?

Ekta Kapoor is all set to sell good luck by marketing religious merchandise. No prizes for guessing that astrologer Sunita Menon will be the brand ambassador

Enterprising that she is, Ekta Kapoor has now come up with yet another novel business idea, after K-serials. She will now sell religious merchandise.

She has specially designed a velvet box containing several religious items. Each box will have seven dhoop battis of different fragrances, a sri yantra (known to bring wealth as per Hindu mythology), nine stones depicting different grahas (planets) and a booklet (probably a guide to the use of all of the above?). We can see the saas-bahus smiling already!

The producer, known for her religious bent of mind, is said to be taking keen personal interest in this venture. She has also sought help from close friend and confidante, astrologer Sunita Menon. "Sunita Menon will feature prominently in the advertisements, and will explain the use and benefits of each item. It is not certain yet whether Ekta will feature in the ads too," says our source.

This project is very close to Ekta's heart and is being kept hush-hush at the moment. In fact, the shooting for the commercial is being done under her strict supervision. Needless to say that Ekta wants all information about this big-scale venture to be kept from the media.

The venture was supposed to be launched in May, but on the advice of her brand ambassador Menon, she has postponed it to June. May, apparently, wasn't the right time to strike the market.

In a production house where horoscopes of actors are given as much importance as histrionics, Ekta's new venture doesn't really come as a surprise. The only question is whether her products will sell as briskly as her soaps.

Thanks for the article. Now it all makes sense - she is so busy with selling luck that she has forgotten the soaps that she is supposed to be working on, such as KS. No wonder KS is so unbearable these days. 😊
