Alison does care for everyone...but I still have my reservations regarding her stories. But she genuinely seemed upset and scared when Ezra was shot.

But my gut tells me that the person who attacked Alison that night and who is A is...Jason. Who else would Jessica go to lengths in protecting...she clearly favoured Jason over Ali. And somehow,Spencer's dad was involved because Jason is his son.

But I am curious to know what Melissa said to her dad about that other dead girl.
