Today is 23 march...
Martyr's day [Shaheed diwas ] of India
Three freedom fighters Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev laid their lives for the freedom of India on March 23rd 1931. They were hanged in Lahore (now in Pakistan) prison by the British rulers for killing of a British police officer J.P. Saunders in 1928 in order to take revenge for the death of another freedom struggle leader Lala Lajpat Rai due to excessive police beating. In the memory of these brave fearless sons of India March 23rd is celebrated as Shaheed Diwas.
They die for us, they sacrificed their lives so that their forthcoming generations can be born free and die free. They died for us so that we can live in a free country
Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev laid their lives for this country so that we can live in a free country, so that the people of India can live a happy, prosperous and dignified life. But when we look at the India today we don't seem to be valuing our freedom, we seem to have taken it for granted. May be because we did not have to fight for it, maybe because we got the freedom for free since we were born after 1947, but the freedom is not free. Today we not only have threats from outside of our country but from within as well. Our soldiers fight for the country and sacrifice their lives

If we want to see our country become crown of the world again, we will have to remind ourselves that our forefathers have laid their lives for us. Paramount cruelty could not break or bend them, they relentlessly fought for us with pride and spirit. If we can show even 1/10th of the dedication, pride and love for the country that martyrs like Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev had, rest of the world will stop calling us a 3rd world country very soon.

On this day March 23rd, lets remember those who died for this country and remind ourselves that we are safe and breathing free air because of their sacrifice. Sacrifice ofBhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev has immortalized them for the centuries to come, on this Shaheed Divas let us pledge to uphold the cherished values for which they gave their life.

I salute the martrys who laid their lives to free our nation from the bondage of foreign rule. Bhagat Singh Rajguru and Sukhdev smilingly sacrificed their lives in the gallows singing the then national song Vande matram.
I salute them for their high standard of nationalism and patriotism which enlisted them in the annals of immortal memories of mortal men.

Manu ...Salutations for your social commitment !

"The people who have really made history are the martyrs."

"These martyrs of patriotism gave their lives for an idea."

"There are causes worth dying for, but none worth killing for."

The blood of the martyrs is the seed of the future !The people who have really made history are the martyrs! Aleister Crowley

Martyrs day in India is celebrated to pay homage to the victims who fought for the freedom, welfare and progress of the India and sacrificed their lives for our freedom .

India is the country among other 15 countries of the world where Martyrs Day is celebrated every year to pay homage to the freedom fighters.

. Bhagat Singh together with his companions Rajguru, Azad, Sukhdev and Jai Gopal fought for the assassination of Lala Lajpat Rai.

On 8 April 1929, Bhagat Singh along with Batukeshwar Dutt threw two bombs in the Central Legislative Assembly while shouting slogans of Inquilab Zindabad!

They charged with the murder and hanged at 7.30 pm in the Lahore jail on 23th of March in the year 1931. Their body was cremated at the banks of the Sutlej River.

A revolutionary whose sacrifices should be remembered by every true Indian!
