Confirmed: Hrithik Roshan signed by Ashutosh Gowarikar for a period film Mohanjodaro
Hrithik Roshan has signed Ashutosh Gowarikar's next film titled Mohanjodaro. After announcing the news of partying ways with one of the most awaited upcoming films Shuddhi with a heavy heart, Hrithik now has a reason to smile. It is a period film with a backdrop of a love story.
The sources close to Hrithik reveal, "Hrithik is very happy nowadays. He has signed Ashutosh Gowarikar's film. Yes, the superstar will play the leading man of Ashu's next which is a period film."
Ashutosh too is thrilled about signing Hrithik as he has been behind the actor for a long time for the same film. It was because of Shuddhi and Bang Bang, Hrithik was unable to give dates to Ashutosh. Now, that Hrithik has opted out of Shuddhi because of health issues, he has all the time for Ashutosh.
The film titled Mohanjodaro is primarily a period film but, the makers are also, touting it as a love story. The leading lady of the film is yet to be finalized who too will be big name.
Hrithik and Ashutosh have in the past too worked together for a period film titled Jodhaa Akhbar which starred Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the female lead. The film worked wonders at the box-office and was also, critically acclaimed.
Coming back to Mohanjodaro, it will go on the floors as soon as Hrithik wraps up Bang Bang where, he is paired opposite Katrina Kaif.
Ashutosh interestingly, will bring technicians from Hollywood to make it a grand
