Wish you all a very Happy Holi! I want to gift my EMA friends this holi a RagNalicious One shot story with Holi background!
So hope you all read on and enjoy as much as I enjoyed writing this. In case you did not then...Bura na maano holi hai!!!š
Let's continue from the point that Kalpi has still not declared her feelings for Raghav out in the open. Raghav is dying to meet her alone, talk to her and express his feeling elaborately.
Raghav's home:
Raghav: (reaches home after the tiring bus ride and cab ride). He is all sweaty and feels uncomfortable. He removes his shirt and freshens up and comes out of the washroom in his tracks and a towel around his neck.
Sammy walks into his room and asks him - aaj itni der lagaadi? (What took you so long?) Don't you want to go to the Gym.
Raghav: (thinking... done all gymming in the bus itself.) Hmm nah you go ahead! I have some work.
Sammy: (smiling)..Haan Haan, Why should you go to gym when your heart is getting all the exercise it needs. Your heartbeat rate is already high now if you run on the treadmill then you will collapse. You don't take stres, try doing some phone yoga!
Raghav: (with his usual raised eyebrows expression) Phone yoga? What's that?
Sammy: laughing...Arre I meant call Kalpi n talk to her your pulse rate might come back to normal!! Saying so he leaves to work out.
Raghav: Now all smiling and nodding his head looks at the mirror and finds Kalpi standing next to him. He turns around with a jerk but no one is there.
Klpi's voice is calling out to him from the mirror: Sir I am here why are you looking behind?
Raghav: All confused...looks at Kalpi in the mirror and says here I go again!!! and scratches his hair with a smile. Says to himself, Yeh ladki mujhe paagal banaake hi chodhegi (This girl will surely turn me crazy).
He picks up his phone and bites lips thinking should I call her or no?
Singhania Chawl:
Kalpi's has freshened up and is making dal bhaat as per Pakya's message from Kamla maa.
She washes the rice leaves it aside. And places a vessel full of water on the gas to boil.
She picks up a cooker washes dal and is now busy cutting onions and tomatoes, green chillies. Her eyes are watering while cutting onions and she is sniffing when her mobile rings.
Tring tring tring tring..
Kalpi: Uff no one lets me work peacefully, kabhi dada toh kabhi koi. Chodhna kalpi koi sales call hoga tu pehle khaana bana le (Someone ot the other keeps disturbing me let me not take this call must be a sales call, I shall cook first.)
Raghav: gets a bit upset.. Why is not picking up the phone? I hope she is fine. Then he smiles to himself maybe she is getting fresh. He leaves the phone on his bed, takes his towel off and goes near the wardrobe to pick a tshirt. Just as he does so his phone rings.
He turns around and jumps to pick it up just to find it is not Kalpi, he choses not to answet it. The one who should call me doesn't and I am in no mood to answer anybody else's call. Let me try calling her once more.
He dials her number..and hears the ringtone...
Singhania chawl:
Kalpi with eyes fully red, she has just given jhok to her daal, the cooker whistling in the background. She is still sniffing. She hears her phone ring again. This time she picks it up and sees Raghav Sir calling. She thinks...Raghav Sir ko is waqt kya kaam hai?
She answers the phone ...
Kalpi: Sniff Yes Raghav Sir what is it?
Raghav: Getting concerned.. No nothing much I just wanted to hear...,no I mean wanted to talk to you. Are you are u ok?? Are you uhm..crying? I..I..am sorry Kalpi. I didn't want to ...
Kalpi: Smiling...No Sir, Y should you be sorry I was cooking food the onions made me cry. What did you want to talk we can talk in the office tomorrow? I am a bit busy cooking Sir.
Raghav: Listen wait dont hang up I need to meet you outside office Kalpi its urgent.
Kalpi: Sir I have told you I cannot meet you outside mmmthinks for a while and smiles and says I will be free on holi and we can meet (knowing he dislikes colours, she thinks he will say no.) If you really want to meet me then I will be here playing holi in the chawl. We can talk then.
Raghav: But I dont like colours Kalpi I cant come there.
Kalpi: Too bad Sir, I don't think we can meet then. Bye Sir Goodnight.
Raghav: wait wait...How dare she hang up? He turns back to look in the mirror and finds Kalpi laughin at him. Tum itni ziddi kyun ho?
Mirror Kalpi: Laughing...Kyun? abhi se darr gaye. Dont hv the guts to come on Holi, oh I thought you loved me and you could do anything for me, then why dont you come? Maybe I can let you know what I think about you.
Raghav: Ya rite how will we get privacy there? You only had a problem when I said I'd drop you in my car. Now no one will ask you about me? What you expect me to colour my face and come there? No way!
Mirror Kalpi: Okay fine dont come, Phir nahi bolna mauka nahi diya, pouting her lips she vanishes.
Raghav searching her all around in his room only to realise he is just imagining her.
He has decided to pay a visit to the Chawl tomorrow.
Sammy: Toh tune jaane ka faisla kar hi liya? Chal I will also join you. Holi mein mazaa aayega.
Kapoor mansion:
Paakhi: Calls up kamla maa. Hello Kamla maa, where are you these days, you dont call me or meet me. Shall I come to meet you tomorrow? Its holi naa, I want that yummy puranpoli you make every year. Just dont want to miss it this year.
Kamla: Nahi nahi Paakhi if you will come here ppl will put gulaal on you beta. I will send you the puranpolis.
Paakhi: Kamla maa this year I want to celebrate holi with you all, please let me come.
Kamla: Theek hai but remember dont wear your designer wear or new clothes woh sab kharaab ho jaayenge. Wear something old and indian. Try wearing a simple suit.
Paakhi: All excited...Oh Kamla maa I will do that! See you tomorrow.
Singhania Chawl:
Kamla enters her house and sees Kalpi and smiles at her.
Kalpi comes running to her and takes the bags from Kamla's hands.
Kalpi: Aai where were you? What took you so long? I have cooked dinner for us. Come take rest, gives her aai a glass of water.
Kamla: Is very happy! Sorry Kalpi I had to go to the store to get stuff for tonite and tomorrow. Today we are having holika dehan in the chawl so we will offer coconut and puranpoli as our offerings. Come lend me a hand in all this.
Kalpi: Wow I love your puranpolis aai, come lets make it fast and I will learn to make them too.
They both get busy in preparations.
Vitthal and Pakya walk in...
Pakya: Are you ladies done? In the next one hour we will be ready for Holika dehan. Wow Tomorrow we will play with colours. Kyun baba?
Vitthal: Yes Yes after all your aai and I play holi every year. Kyun kamla winking at her.
Kamla: Vitthal, tu bhaang nahi piyegaa, in fact I am going to ask Bhau to not have bhaang this year only thandaai. You people make a mess once you drink that bhaang.
Kalpi: Yess. Kyun Aai? Remember last year Baba had bhaang the whole day he said nothing but Kamla kamla...he he (giggling and hi5ing with Pakya)
Kamla: All embarassed...Exactly isliye this year no bhaang.
Pakya: Arre Aai this year I am organising this event just see how wonderful this event is going to be.
Kalpi: Daada are there going to be interesting games like last year?
Pakya: Interesting games...Yes like last year...u just wait and watch.
Bedtime:
Raghav is sleepless and gets up and says no matter what I cant take this any more. I will meet Kalpi tomorrow at any cost.
NEXT DAY:
Kapoor Mansion:
Neetu: Pookhi beta Aaj hai na hum poori family holi khelenge. okay.
Paakhi: Oh please Neetu. I am going to my friends place for holi.
Neetu: Thinking in her mind its Raghav she giggles and says oh toh meri pookhi itni badi ho gayi. ok you go beta but be careful haan friends get naughty on holi!!
Paakhi: Gives a confused look and gets ready, she is wearing a baby pink chikan kurta and chudidaar with a dupatta.
Singhania Chawl:
The chawl is abuzz with activities and all the arrangements etc. Kalpi wakes up and thinks about her convo with Raghav. Suddenly she gets tensed, I just asked him to come thinking he wont, but what if he did? What will I tell Aai, baba and daada? Oh no yesterday I asked him to travel by bus and he did!! She runs to the bathroom gets fresh and comes out wearing a plain white chudidaar and sleeveless kurta. She is looking angelic. She decided to tie her hair into a plait. Her kurti has a deep back with dori. She wears a red baandni dupatta and leaves to go outside and see the hulla bulla going on there.
Raghav's house:
Sammy is wearing a white Kurta and blue denim and lookin dapper in it.
Raghav is wearing a pale yellow tshirt and faded black denims. He is looking extra hot today. He has decided to talk to Kalpi today.
Paakhi reaches the chawl and goes upstairs to search for Kamla maa.
Kamla wearing an orange printed saree sees her and is happy. arrey beta you have come. Good now play holi with Kalpi and then I will feed you your favourite items,ok?
Paakhi: Wow, Kamla maa u also come na. Lets go.
Pakya: Secretly very happy to see Paakhi. Thinks aaj toh main Paakhi ko colour lagaunga.
Raghav and Sammy park their car far and walk up to the chawl. The chawl people are surprised to see Raghav and they all run to him.
Chawl people: Raghav baba please please come we are so happy to see you. Please play holi with us. Raghav is taken aback and looks up and down searching for Kalpi.
Paakhi comes running and smiling showing off her dress, Yes sir please join us,I am sure you will have fun.
Sammy is admiring Paakhi and smiling to himself.
Raghav is tensed, he says please I dont like colors.
Kamla: Nahi Raghav baba nobody will put colors on you. but we will put shagun ka tilak. thats it. Please dont say no. Come come. She take him away by hands.
Kalpi is hiding behind the ganpati temple and smiling but also nervous. Oh no bappa ye toh sach mein aa gaye?!! What to do bappa? Please help me!
Everyone puts tilak to Raghav. HE puts on a plastic smile and is desperate to get a glimpse of Kalpi dear when he notices something moving behind the temple.
He asks Kamla, where is Kalpi?
Kalpi comes out with a sheepish smile. Raghav looking at her furiously.
They all put songs and dance and start playing holi.
Pakya gives thandai to all and later one of the other boys say we have mixed bhaang in it.
Mandaa drinks two glasses and starts dancing on the songs. Everyone laugh like crazy.
Paakhi has a glass of thandai and starts dreaming Raghav everywhere.
Kamla and Vitthal too get drunk and are talking to each other.
Raghav has some and feels wierd and hot so opens his tshirt top buttons.
Kalpi is about to have one glass when manda comes dancing and hits her and it falls.
Everyone starts behaving crazy and funny. Pakya also gets drunk and he is dancing with Manda thinking she is Paakhi.š¤£
They all start colouring each other and have fun. Raghav tries to escape from the colours and so does Kalpi.
Paakhi is running after Sammy to colour him thinking he is Raghav. She applies gulaal to his cheeks from behind and turns him around. She then gets surprised and says Sammy sir aap the!
Sammy looks at her naughtily(effect of bhaang)- Haan tumhe toh hameshaa Raghav hi dikhta hai kabhi mujhe bhi dekha hai?
They both share jokes and laugh and play with each other.
Raghav:Sees Sammy and Pakhi together and heaves a sigh of relief to be away from Paakhi
Kalpi comes with a pichkaari and calls Raghav from back.
Raghav Sir! He turns around and she throws colour on him.
He is shell shocked!!! She then takes gulaal and applies on his face and says Happy holi Sir! Sorry!
Raghav is now furious!! He runs after her chases her. She is squealing and running all around. She gets tired and has a thandaai. Now she too starts feeling dizzy and is laughing like a silly girl.
Raghav comes and holds her hand and she looks at him.
They have an eyelock. And she squirts some more water on him and runs away screaming happily.
She runs upstairs and is running on the corridoor. Raghav keeps chasing her with color in his hand. Grabs her from back with one hand and holds her from her waist and applies gulaal on her face & neck and turns her around and pulls her towards him and holds her tight.
Kalpi is so so shocked. That she cant even scream. Suddenly she bursts out wailing huh huh hun my eyes. The color went in my eyes I cant see I will go blind.
Raghav gets worried and leaves her looks into her eye and blows air, she pushes him and runs teasing him showing him thumbs down and sticking out her tongue at him.
Now he is enraged. Bas kalpi now I wont leave you.
This times he runs faster and reaches upto her pulls her hand and pulls her into a house. It is Kalpi's home.
He locks the door from inside. And looks at Kalpi and pins her against the walls holding her upper arms.
Kalpi: Chodooo Chodoo please I am sorry baba...hehe giggles,...Raghav baba he he...itna gussa is injurious to health.
Raghav: And you keeping quiet is more injurious to my health. Come on Kalpi What I told the other day is true, I love you Kalpi and I love you a lot. Please tell me that you love me too.
He is very close to her face and Kalpi is looking at his face. His expressions have now softened and he is looking at her with full love and pleading eyes.
Kalpi : Kya sunna chaahte hain aap. You have hurt me so much so many times and now you expect me to jump at your proposal and whisper sweet nothings in your ear. No way first you have to pay for all that rudeness and harshness. Why were you so rude to me all the time?
Raghav: I am so sorry. I just wanted to keep you away from me. But now I cant live without you. I need you in my life. I Love you Kalpi!
Kalpi: Pushes him and sits on the sofa and asks him to do sit ups as punishment.
Raghav: ye karna zaroori hai?
Kalpi: Ok mat karo then I will aslo not tell you.
Raghav: showing some excitement...tell me what?
Kalpi: Pehle sit ups then talking.
He has done a few sit ups and is tired and comes and sits next to Kalpi on the sofa.
Kalpi is all dazy in bhaang effect puts her head on Raghav's shoulder and pouts.
Why are we so different? Why do you have to be Singhania?
I cant even tell you how much I love you. I am so scared.
But I cant see you in pain and sadness. So maybe I too love you?
Raghav: Gets up and lifts Kalpi and hugs her with tears in his eyes.
Is it true Kalpi? You love me too. She smiles and kisses on his cheeks and nods her head.
Raghav: Is all excited and tries to kiss her back but they both bang their heads and sit back holding their heads with their hand.
Ouch!! said Kalpi,
Raghav: Kalpi tum hameshaa aisi hi thi kya, hamesha lagti lagaati rehti ho?
He gets down to his knees and holds her hands and kisses them and says thank you Kalpi you do not know how much happiness you have given me. I promise I will always be at your side no matter what.
Kalpi then says toh phir chalo Holi khelte hain. He says sure from today these colours are very dear to me as they have made my life colourful too!
They both go down and play holi. Raghav manages to take Kalpi out of the chawl and they both go for a walk hand in hand. HE notices Kalpi is trying to do something but cant understand.
Raghav: Tum kya kar rahi ho?
Kalpi: Meri dori khul gayi. Ab kya karoon?
Raghav: come I will tie it. He looks around if anyone is looking at them and tied her dori and slowly runs a finger down her spine. Kalpi is all aroused and turns back and says ye sab achha nahi Mr Singhania, sharam nahi is tarah ladki chedte huye???
Raghav: smiling...what ladki, tum toh meri Kalpana ho!! You are mine!
Kalpi is shy and they both have an endearing hug. Raghav thinks it is not safe to roam around like this and takes her home. Kalpi is just giggling and talking the same thing, Why do we have to be in love with each ither, why is it so difficult and talks non stop blah blah blah...Raghav cleans himself and comes out and finds KAlpi in the same condition blah blah he he blah blah he he.
He goes upto her and asks her to get fresh and lifts her. She is shaking her leg and head and yelling mujhe ghar nahi jaana, I dont wanna go home.
HE puts her down and she has her arms around his neck and his around her waist. She pulls his nose and kisses it. Sir aap baohot cute ho he he.
Raghav: Aur tum bohot...smiles pulls her closer and plants a deep kiss on her lips and runs his hand over her deep open back. He kisses her passionately and she is unable to breathe, she wants to push him away but finds that her body is responding to his kiss. She runs her fingers through his hair. She loved ehat he was doing to her and did not want him to stop. They were finally so close that it seemed nothing could separate them.
Raghav in his mind: I just want to show you Kalpi we are not that different we both fell in love with each other and that is what is most important.
They lost track of time and finally they broke the kiss. Raghav looked at her and she could not look back at him. Things have changed she thought she was shy and smiling.
The flower has bloomed and she has been kissed!!! She hid her face in her palms and turned around and Raghav hugged her from behind...So? Will you still say that we are not made for each other??
Kalpi is like ye aapne kya kiya?? She feels a bit guilty. Aapne accha nahi kiya Sir!!!
Raghav: Really? Well all i can say is "Bura na mano holi hai"
They both hug each other again and get lost in their new found love!!!
