Aamir Dalvi: Fat to fit!
Aamir Dalvi who plays Rajeev in Saathi Re is a decent and smart looking guy now but things were quite different in his younger days. Aamir was 35 kilos overweight as a teenager and says that the extra pounds made him look much older than he was.
Aamir Dalvi who plays Rajeev in Saathi Re is a decent and smart looking guy now but things were quite different in his younger days. Aamir was 35 kilos overweight as a teenager and says that the extra pounds made him look much older than he was.
It was Dalvi's passion for acting that encouraged him to shed off the excess flab:
"I wanted to become an actor. Being overweight would have restricted me as I would get very limited roles. For this reason I decided I would lose weight and look at me today; I have done it.
I went on a very strict exercise and diet regime and I really worked hard to make it work. It was difficult but not impossible. One has to have a very strong will to achieve what they want. I have lost oodles of weight now and I am very happy." says Aamir.
Aamir was about 112 kgs during his college days. His weight now has dropped down to 75-78 kgs. He has worked hard and is especially particular about his eating habits saying, "Earlier I use to eat in the numbers. If I was eating ice cream then I would not stop at one. I would eat two or three. I would eat two or three chocolates at a go. Now I eat everything but I'm very careful to eat small amounts."
As a college student, Aamir was a lot heavier than his friends. This made him the brunt of many jokes including one where he was told he looked like a father rather than a student. The tables turned when Aamir met his friends recently looking better than ever. They told him that "when you were in college you looked double your age but now you look younger than you actually are."
According to Aamir that was a moment he will never forget. He says that, after his diet, his life has changed positively. This is the first time Aamir is playing a lead role in a serial. He was earlier seen in Jab Love Hua.
