CHAPTER-19.

Veera was being dressed by some village acquaintances as she sat glumly in front of the mirror..

She was not even looking at her reflection in the mirror,afraid to face herself even..

The entire day her Veerji had stayed away,and was still nowhere in sight..Her heart squeezed in pain at the thought that she was making her brother so unhappy by going with the marriage..And yet she could not get out of it too,due to the pressure of the villagers and the village panchayat..

Finallly the girls dressing her up left,leaving her in a few seconds of peace to herself..

Something made her look up into the mirror infront of her..

The door to her room suddenly closed with a sure click,as if someone had locked it,but still she saw no one as yet in the semi darkened room lit up by lamps at corners.But she felt there was someone in the room with her..

Her eyes were searching the darkened corners,when suddenly she saw a dark shadow just behind her that made her gasp out in surprise..

The shadow came closer,and slowly she watched it lean closer to her shoulder,and then light fell on the intruder's face making her gasp out in surprise once again.

His familiar handsome face had an intense expression dark expression on it,and she watched as if in slow motion,how his pupils dilated and nostrils flared as he inhaled a short sharp breath,as he took her appearance in..

Veera followed his eyes and looked better at her reflection along with his in the mirror..

All she could see was herself dressed in a baby pink lehenga,half of her hair tied at the crown while the rest fell in open tresses round her shoulder and down her back..matching earings dangled from her ears and her maang tikka shone in the lamp light too..

But what caught her eye was how handsome he looked in a purple sherwani..His face a mask of deep intense burning passion,that got her heart racing like insane..

And then he came closer to her,his face just beside her shoulder..And before Veera could understand what he was about,he raised his hand and moved away her heavy hair to the other shoulder,exposing her creamy neck and back to his view..

Veera mesmerized looked into his burning eyes through the mirror,not able to blink or believe what was really happening,as goosebumps formed on her skin as his warm breath fell on her neck..

She watched as if in a daze,as keeping eye contact with her through the mirror,he lowered his lips to her neck,and placed a soft kiss over there making her shiver involuntarily in response..

Her breathing became heavier,as she tried to fight the endless waves of desire that rose within her whenever he came close to her..

But to her utter dismay,he was not done with her,as she felt his hand curve round her waist,and pull her up against his hard body..Another shudder of need passed through her body at the contact..

This was crazy she knew..He should not be here,she also knew that..She also knew that she she should not be responding to is proximity like she was doing right then..Or should she..?

She closed her eyes,as she felt his hard male hand tighten round her waist sending waves of desire coursing through her nerves and blood stream.

She tried to calm her gone haywire emotions,but then he nuzzled her neck making her shiver and lean onto him again..How could someone's simplest touches make you go so wild..?How could someone make you feel like-..

A soft gasp escaped her lips as he softly bit at her one earlobe,and a hot tendril of need rocketed through her body.

She clenched her hand into tight fists and opened her suddenly heavy lids to stare mesmerized at their reflection in the mirror as he started kissing her exposed neck column making her go dizzy with desire..Soft butterfly kisses along her exposed neck nearly made her moan out loud,but she clenched her teeth shut tight to keep herself from moaning..

Veera knew she had to fight it out,but her traitorous body was not ready to listen as she felt herself turn into a puddle of yearning at his kisses and proximity.

"VEERA!!!"Someone called out from just outside the door,making him let go of her instantly..

Breathing heavily they both stared at each other..Now face to face..

Then suddenly he came closer,making Veera step back..

He raised his hand,and Veera closed her eyes,her body going rigid not knowing what to expect..

She opened her eyes in shock when she felt his finger on her forehead..

She realised he had just put a bindi on his forehead..

And then he took his lips close to her ears again,surprising her to stillness.

"Tainu dekhne aya tha..Apne biwi ko saab se pehle dekh ne ka haq to mainu hi hai na saab se agey..?

[I came to see you..It's my right to see my wife before everyone else,isn't it..?]"He whispered softly into her ear.His warm breath made thrills of pleasure rocket through her nerves..

And then surprising her once more,he softly nipped at her earlobe again.

And before she could move or react,winking at her naughtily,he went towards the balcony and vanished out of the room..

A high colored Veera was taken down for the engagement,and everyone talked about how love had colored her..

A naughtily grinning Baldev winked at Veera looking at him with a mock stern look,knowing that he was half way to winning her..

Veera though initially reeling from the emotions Baldev had aroused in her,had in the end completed the ring ceremony due to the absence of her Veerji..

Her eyes searched for him everywhere,but he was nowhere to be seen..

And Veera felt her eyes prickled with unshed tears,at the absence of the most important person in her life on her most special day..

With a heavy heart she stared at the ring on her finger,as the crowd around her talked and laughed in mood of celebration..

He only other person who noticed her gloomy mood was the one who had made her wear that ring..

Baldev could feel her pain,at Ranvi's absence from the ceremony..

And he felt helpless that he could not do anything to diminish it..

He did not love her,yet she was his responsibility now..It was his duty to see she stayed happy..

And since her happiness was in her Veerji,her Veerji's happiness was in the marriage being stopped,and his happiness in keeping her as his for good by marrying her with all the rituals,Baldev was helpless to do anything but see her unhappy with a heavy heart..

Excellent update. You have so many stories going on I get confused what's going on on each one and go back to re-read which story is which. I am amazed how you manage to keep up with all of these brilliant stories
