Was this disguise the only solution?

The episode looked so grand. Music, make up, dance, fast paced direction, comedy. But I was so disappointed with this whole disguise track.

Minor problems I had was Aliya's attire. I admit she is a modern bahu and she seems to be comfortable with the clothings. But if they had showed it in a bigger light before, her costume might have been acceptable. And that orange wig still burns my eyes. Watching in HD really does enhance it more. This whole deceiving and lying act to get the papers. And the dance today? Was this how Aliya's character sketch was done? Does it really suit her? I dont know. The dance was all cute and the way Zain joined her was also good. But I was not able to accept this.

Also after watching today's episode I asked myself, was this the ONLY way to get the key and papers?

Why couldn't have Aliya and Zain gone along with Osman and Suraiya as themselves? They are after all rich people. Zain could afford to get the jewels for Aliya. They could have hired a dancing girl to dance and get the key for them. And made an arrangement to keep the Don engaged till they got the papers together? I really thought they both will go searching for the paper and have a moment. And well if they did not want to be seen, then they could have worn a bhurka and come. But the dancing, I really felt they could have arranged a dancer.

Not just this, there are so many other ideas they could have really used and brought Zain and Aliya closer too.

For my part, I liked the last scene only. I hope this whole Aayat track ends here. Also seems like Suraiya has seen her. And to top it off, there might be a picture in the paper with Aayat's glimpse and reason enough for her to courier another copy to Shabana.

I for one am glad this whole getting papers is done. Hoping it will be better with the coming episode. Zain has at last started caring for Aliya unconsciously.

I agree Nandini.
I'm a bit confused. Aaliya, how I LOVED her.
She was the reason, I'd gotten attached to this show & fell in love with ZaYa & Zain as much. I loved how Pree portrayed Aaliya.
Aaliya's character was so strong. There was this air, of both confidence
& assurance of, who she was all about & infact how proud she was about being that. Her values & morals, she loudly proclaimed infront of Zain at several occasions & her approach earlier to things, always centered around her core religious values & ideals.
But it looks like, as Zain is slowly maturing & we're seeing different shades of him, the Creatives have kind of either forgotten or ignored Aaliya's character, in the whole process. They've ignored her character, while developing everyone else's & that of the storyline of the show.
No, I won't say that I have a problem with a girl wearing a sleeveless, strapless dress & performing with a Don on some number. I don't want to sound regressive & don't wish to impose the same on another. My only problem is the contradiction in Aaliya's character, all of a sudden. Agreed, this was circumstancial & she is not this way, but it's still a contradiction to who she was all about, all this time & how she could've dealt with the situation, while staying true to her character.
It's difficult for me to imagine the Aaliya from Bhopal or the one that'd just married Zain, approaching the situation in ways, that might defer from her morals or ideals.
When Zain had asked her to wear that sexy one piece, in the Hotel room that night, she'd refused him & said, she wasn't the kind to do that. When Gauhar's truth came out infront of Aaliya, the first thing she told Nafeesa was that the Quran doesn't approve of lying or maybe hiding things ? And this whole disguise thing, the dress & the dance were just contradicting the Aaliya of the initial days. That's my problem. The contradiction is. The sudden contradiction, in the way she's dealing with things is.
( Everything else, who wishes to wear what, chooses what kinda lifestyle, I believe is a personal choice) Cause, Zain had made a personal choice of not being spiritual or religious from the beginning. Nobody kinda complained. But sudden contradictions, even if momentary & temporary are disturbing.
I wish the CVs were a bit more careful about all of this.!

@unnati: Exactly! Its about the consistency. Aliya was sketched with certain character qualities. They have to stick to it. And that night dress scene. Its been what? 2 weeks since that happened? It had a strap on the dress as well.

And yea, they have been showing Zain's character so well, what went wrong with Aliya? I initially even consoled myself that maybe JUST maybe, they are trying to show all this lying or hiding that Aliya is doing is due to Zain's influenze. Like he is rubbing off on her.

I was watching the old episodes this weekend and that whole mirchi eating scene. She says "maamu se jhoot bolke" and then there is Zain pulling off curtains and lamps in the room post the soccer match, he says "jhoot bolna haram haina tumaare liye". So many contradictions in the characters.

And clothes are NOT the problem for me as well. Its the way things keep jumping here and there and confusing the audience. In face, it would have made more sense if Zain is the modern husband encouraging his wife to be modern as well. She could either accept or reject his suggestions. There has been no explanations to all these inconsistencies. The CVs can still maybe try to justify this or not make such errors in the future.

@black : Totally agree! How strange is that & moreover, how gravely contradictory. All of these are big time, bloopers when it comes to the characterisation of Aaliya. Sad.
I loved it when they showed, how smart, yet how deeply rooted she was in her moral, her religious beliefs. She practices them so strongly & so assertively, but then again, there are such scenes, that are blooper-ishly contradictory in nature.

The CVs need to re-visit her character sketch and tighten up these inconsistencies in her character or else they may lose some viewers. I really disliked her red wig, that's definitely not the way to be inconspicuous when you're about to steal something😆 It was also so distracting and of all the costumes to pick for her that was the worse.

I searched the 1st 2 pages of the forum posts to find someone who thought like me and that time I did not. So, I made a post in this myself. If I had seen yours, I wouldn't because you said everything I wanted to in a much better way. I wish I could still love Aaliya but the whole track was so stupid. It makes you feel as if they think the viewers are so dumb that they will just watch all this..NOT have questions or better ideas and move on to love the show even more. I have made it clear since day 1 that although I will always love Harshad and Preetika, I will have my issues with the show and will voice them and maybe stop watching if they show nonsensical drama. They have pushed me to do that. I loved Aaliya way too much so I can't sit and watch them show her as a hypocritical, overly selfless, typical Indian drama lead. "What were they thinking ? " is the only question that comes to mind.

my point is this disguise could not hide the real identity of zain n aliya..if viewers recognize them then why not who are closed to them? a father cannot identify his son in such a stupid disguise? and aliya..my god sky blue dress and orange wig..very funny..sheikh's wives don't wear off shoulder dress and don't dance in the party..she should have come in alif laiya dress..where half of the face is covered but still looking beautiful.. how easily she took the key from the don..i don't think dons r so stupid!

I think the audience could have digest this whole thing if it was done in a different way wig, frock and the dance was too much and unwanted i would say
