"Because I am a soul.Not a ghost or a spirit.A soul.A living soul and I need your help to save me from Doctor Milan Soal"
Arnav narrowed his eyes at her "What kind of idiot do you take me for? You actually expect me to believe that"
"Yes" said Khushi "You can't see me in the mirror and neither can anybody else.My body is lying on that bed right in front of you"
Arnav shook his head "This has to be some sort of sick joke"
Before Khushi could say anything the door flew open.A male doctor in his early thirties with a briefcase walked in.He walked to Khushi and stared at her for a second.He opened his briefcase oblivious that Arnav was there.He took out the injection and injected it in Khushi's arm "Stop him!" Khushi cried.
"He's a doctor" whispered Arnav "I can't tell him what to do"
"Please Arnav" Khushi begged.
The doctor took out the injection and put it back in his briefcase.He walked out the door still not noticing Arnav.Khushi's eyes widened.She rushed to her body's side and looked around as if trying to spot a difference "Khushi he's a doctor.He must know what he's doing" said Arnav.
"I know that!" Khushi snapped "And that's exactly what I am scared of.Call the doctor!" Before Arnav could say anything,Khushi's body jerked.She began breathing heavily "CALL THE DOCTOR!" Khushi yelled.
Arnav quickly pressed the button.Khushi scurried to where some white coats were hung and took one.She forcibly put it on a furious Arnav "What the hell-"
"Oh not again!" said a nurse who rushed into the room "Doctor what should we do?"
"I don't know" squeaked Arnav.
The nurse looked at him as if he had grown three heads "You're a doctor! You should obviously know what to do"
Arnav looked at her unsure and glanced at Khushi's body which was growing worse by each passing minute "I'll tell you what to do and you do it" said Khushi.
Arnav nodded.Using Khushi's instructions and the nurse's help,he managed to calm Khushi's body down.He stepped back and looked at Khushi's now calm body.Her breathing had become regular again.He glanced at Khushi and looked at the nurse.Arnav knew a mirror could lie but not a human's eye "Excuse me" he called to the nurse.He walked up to her and looked straight into her eyes.He was confused when he only found himself.He looked beside him and saw Khushi looking at him strangely.He turned back to the nurse "Can you look there" he requested.The nurse looked at him as if he had gone crazy but did as was told.Arnav looked closely at the nurse's eyes and noticed there was no trace of Khushi's face "Oh okay thank you"
The nurse gave him a weird look and left.Arnav looked at a smirking Khushi "What an idea!" she praised "So what if you can't see me in the mirror.You can definitely see me in a human eye.So did you find me?" Arnav looked away "Do I have to prove myself any more?"
Arnav shook his head.He looked at her "But how? I mean how did you get stuck like this?"
This time Khushi looked away and stared at her body "I..." she started "I don't know.I just came out"
"What do you mean?" Arnav asked taking a step forward towards her.
"When I went to coma...I was..forced out"
"By what?"
"I don't know.I just felt a pull and here I am"
"How long have you been stuck like this?"
Khushi closed her eyes "For about 2 years"
"How have you been able to take care of your niece?"
Khushi opened her eyes and gave a small smile "She can see me just like you.It's just that she is strongly attached to me ever since my sister and brother in law died in an accident.I guess you could say she considers me as her mother.I can hold very limited objects including everything related to her.Like her toys and her food.I can touch them and bring it to her.Priya doesn't know I am a soul.She still thinks I am solid,a human" Khushi looked sadly at her body "If only she knew"
"Wait.What's the whole story? What made you go to coma and why do you need help to save yourself from some doctor?"
Khushi pointed at the closed door "That doctor who had come with that briefcase is Doctor Milan.He wants to kill me"
"What? Why?"
Khushi looked away "Well...I was engaged to Milan.When I had first met him,he seemed like a nice guy.He was always nice to me.A few months after knowing him he proposed.To be honest I had no such feelings for him but my sister wanted me settled and married so I agreed.Our engagement happened a few weeks after that.He wanted to get married immediately but I wanted some time.A week or two after,I went to the hospital to just check up on my patients.I was passing by the room in which he was in and I overheard him talking to some girl over phone.I realized he was married to one my best friends,Neelam,who lived in Lucknow.She was from a rich high class family and that was the reason Milan married her.I broke my engagement with him and told him I would tell her.It was then he told me he was planning to kill her when she signed her will to him.I wanted to call Neelam and tell her but I didn't know her phone number.I only knew her address.I was driving to Lucknow and I realized late that he was following me.He slammed his car into mine and it crashed into a tree.He drove away and I lay there for quiet a while"Khushi sighed "It was a miracle I didn't die"
"So is her will transferred to him now?" asked a curious Arnav.
"No.As I said earlier I can hold very limited objects and so whenever she is about to sign over the will to him,I sometimes hide the pen and when she goes looking for it,I rip the papers"
Arnav nodded "So how I help?"
Khushi looked at him "I need you to help me prove Milan is the cheat to Neelam.She is a strong girl.I am sure she'll be able to handle him after"
"That's okay but when will you return to your body?"
Khushi sighed and looked at her body longingly "I will have to wait until my body is ready to accept me"
