Smartly-written characters keep popping up to distract us from a loopy setup. The standout is Ram Kapoor, who plays the annoyingly perfect relative that everyone aspires to be. Though his advice to Sid is implausible and leads to flimsy decisions involving 5-star weekend escapes, or alternatively, an inexplicable paying-guest idea (?), he turns out to be an alarmingly substantial character, one that serves the most thought-provoking lines of the film.
