With You Forever(TS)
Love Realization (OS)
The same morning Zoya walked into the kitchen where she saw her Aapi preparing breakfast. She went up to her and asked if she could help. Zeenat looked at her and asked her what the matter was as Zoya did this only if she wanted to talk about something. Zoya looked down and in barely a whisper said she was ready to marry whoever Zeenat selected. Zeenat immediately turned the burner off and took a long look at Zoya. She held her by her hand and guided her to the living room and sat her down.
"What happened by bachcha? Are you all right?"
"Yes Aapi. I was just thinking... about what you said...last night." Zoya said with hesitation.
"Zoya don't worry, I'm not upset with you. If you don't want to get married now we can talk about it after some time when you feel you are ready."
"No Aapi, I'm ok, I mean I'm ready... I thought a lot about it last night and I think you are right. I should get married now. Am sure Allaha has made someone for me too who will accept me the way I am."
Zeenat looked at her sister and immediately understood that she was doing it only for their happiness. The dark circles and the puffiness in Zoya's eyes gave away the fact that she had not had good sleep and that she had cried before coming out of her room.
"Zoya you don't have to do this for anybody. I want you to marry only if you find happiness in doing so. Moreover when you get married you will have a new house and a new family to handle so I want you to be absolutely sure before you take any decisions in this regard."
"Aapi, I'm 100% sure and yes I am happy with my decision as this will make the two most important people in my life happy. The only thing I want is that whoever you select for me should accept me the way I am and no one should come complaining about anything to you or to Jiju after the wedding. So please make sure whoever you select for me is well aware of my drawback. " With that a lone tear rolled down her cheek. Zeenat wiped it and asked what the tears were for. Zoya told her that though she was now ready to get married, the tears were because she felt sad leaving her Aapi and Jiju. Very gently Zeenat pulled Zoya into a hug and patted the back of her head to calm her down. Zoya squeezed her eyes shut silently crying and praying for strength to help her get through this and move on in life like her Aapi wanted.
The next few days passed with a lot of excitement where on one hand Dilshaad was looking at countless photographs to find the best girl for her son and on the other hand Zeenat was busy talking to her relatives to look for a suitable groom for Zoya. Both ended up empty hand by the end of each day as they could not get the perfect match. Both wanted the best. Dilshaad asked Asad not once but many times to help her select a girl but he always said he will marry whoever she decided upon as he is getting married only for her happiness. Zoya on the other hand kept telling Zeenat she would marry whoever accepts her the way she is and would never trouble her Aapi or Jiju because of her drawbacks. But days turned to weeks both Dilshaad and Zeenat were not able to fix the alliance of their children. It had been a couple of weeks when Zeenat decided to talk to Zoya once again about the kind of husband she wanted but as she entered her room she saw Zoya sitting on her bed and silent tears rolling down her cheeks. Zeenat cupped her face and asked "What happened to my princess? What is bothering you so much Zoya that you're crying?"
"Aapi... I'm not ready..." She saw the confused look on her Aapi's face and said "I mean for the wedding. Aapi...Aapi I have been trying to convince myself but it just doesn't happen. My mind says something and my heart just the opposite... I don't know what's happening to me but this...this entire thing about marriage is making me very restless and I ... I... I don't want to do it Aapi...please...please don't make me do something I don't want to, please don't send me away from the only family I have." With that she hugged Zeenat tightly to herself and cried for what seemed like hours. Once her sobs had subsided and her breathing had become normal Zeenat cupped her face and planted a soft kiss on her forehead and said "Zoya. You are the light and life of this house, but we all have to understand that you belong to someone, to your husband and that we cannot be selfish and keep you away from him. He must be out there somewhere looking for his other half and if we don't let you go, because Anwar and I love you a lot and want to keep you for ourselves as you are our only child, it's not going to be fair. He will be forced to live an incomplete life because of us. Zoya you will have a family of your own when you get married, your husband's family will be yours too. So even if you leave one family behind there will be another waiting for you in his house. Please understand beta that's the way it always happens. That's the way it happened with me too."
With that Zoya shook her head in approval for what Zeenat said and smiled at Zeenat confirming she was ok and Zeenat could look for a groom for her. Though Zoya agreed with her sister deep within she still wasn't ready. She still feared rejection. What if nobody would understand, what if she was left all alone and what if nobody wanted to make her a part of their lives. She didn't want her Aapi and Jiju to face all the humiliation because of her. Zoya pretended to be normal for her family but within she was a scared soul who didn't want to be left alone and who feared rejection.
A few days later both Zeenat and Zoya were out shopping when Zeenat spotted a familiar face. Zeenat hurried towards the lady and very gently patted on her shoulder. As soon as the lady turned around a smile spread across Zeenat's face. It was her college friend Dilshaad.
"Dilshaad, Assalam O Alaikum"
"Zeenat, Wa Alaikum Assalam"
"What a pleasant surprise. How are you and where have you been?" Dilshaad asked Zeenat.
"After college I got married and had moved to New York with my husband, but returned a couple of years ago. Where have you been I tried to locate you after I came back, but just couldn't."
"Oh. I have a long story. Would you like to join me for coffee and then we can do all the catching up."
"Sure." As soon as Zeenat turned around she saw Zoya and then introduced her to Dilshaad.
"Dilshaad, this is my younger sister Zoya."
Dilshaad was confused and looked at Zeenat "Sister But if I remember..."
Zeenat cut her mid sentence and asked her to move to the coffee shop. As soon as Zoya walked ahead of them Zeenat quickly told Dilshaad something she didn't want Zoya to learn ever. The two friends spent the afternoon talking about their lives and by the end of it all exchanged numbers and addresses to stay in touch. Both were happy to be in contact again. Where Dilshaad was touched to see how well Zeenat had handled some difficult situations in her life, Zeenat was shocked to learn how difficult Dilshaad's life had been and she had still managed to come out of it all, bringing up her 2 children alone. Both didn't realize the common point between them was that they were both looking for a suitable match for their children.
