Very we'll said. Like he told jodha near the Taraazu, he wants her to behave like one of his khas begums and assert her rights. He probably knows in his mind that Jodha would never love him openly as he wants her to, if she cowers under pressure and gives up to Ruqaiyya. He wants her to break that for not only the other slaves in the harem but also it releases herself (jodha) too in the process.

At the same time, he does not dislike his childhood friend - Ruqs. But, she has to be shown her place, a little dhakka to her Audha that has actually gone to her head. He knows that by just advising her is not helping, but, giving her a reality check , a shock could make her a better person. This could pave a way for Ruqs to accept and share responsibilities on equal footing with others, show care and concern to all the begums and concubines of Shahenshah. She should graciously accept Jodha and give the space to them (Jo and Ja) without confrontation. He knows and saw firsthand her confrontationist attitude during the Sikhri trip. May be, at that time itself, he made up his mind to do something once and for all.
