Hello,
We're getting down to the real business end of the show (not the end of the show!) where we're essentially back to square one. MJ is again proofless and in the eyes of the law, still a heinous criminal. However, the situation isn't as bleak and hopeless as it was when we first met him behind bars. He now has a purpose to fight for justice, freedom and for his love.
MJ was a man who was bogged down by the grief of losing his best friend, his guilt over not being able to protect her and a promise he made to his step-mother to shelter the real culprit. He knew that there was no point in fighting a losing battle where death is assured but more importantly who would he fight for? He did have some people who appreciated his existence but moreover what evidence was there that he in fact was innocent? Baba didn't know that MJ wasn't even in town when the incident happened until Tara showed him the plane ticket.
Hence, we see the desperate attempt of a father to restore life into his emotionally dead son. At first, I thought the decision to get Tara married to MJ by bribing her with her family's happiness was a very selfish move by Baba but I realised that Baba saw more than just an alibi for MJ to be given parole in Tara. He saw that she had that fighting spirit in her that would be necessary in convincing MJ to retain his right to live.
Almost half a year later, we're back where we started but this time the story will take a new course. This time it won't be a father's desperate attempt to free his son but a wife's struggle to prove her husband innocent with minimal evidence. The journey will be tougher now because Kalavati will become more cautious to cover up her tracks and she'll be more vigilant about Tara finding any other clues. It also doesn't help that MJ's new lawyer has been bought over by RP/Kala.
Tara won't be alone in this fight though as Baba and Yug will do their utmost best to help her prove MJ's innocence. Additionally, I feel like Nirmala will also intentionally and unintentionally provide some assistance as she will also discover that RP is not buttering her up because he's concerned about her and Adi's status in the SM. Now what she finds in that envelope and what she does with it remains to be seen.
I'm personally very excited with where this story is heading. I like that the CVs aren't beating around the bush and extending unnecessary tracks of the show to increase TRPs. If they continue to deliver crisp and meaningful episodes then I'm sure that this show will gain TRPs and recognition without any promotion done by LO (that doesn't take away from the fact that the show deserves to be promoted!).
Eagerly waiting for husband-wife duo to kick some butt,
Shegufta xx
