Chapter Four

After breakfast at Taara's house, I head back to my house. I walk in only to be bombarded with my mom's questions. "Where were you? Where did you go so early in the morning?" "Mom, mom, relax. I was with Taara," I say. "You could have told me, I wouldn't have been so worried," she says. "Sorry my lovely mom, but you know that this is what we always do," I reply. "But still you just came back, you could have at least spent some time with me." "Then I'll tell Taara to come over for breakfast tomorrow." "You can't do anything without Taara, can you?"

"Mom, Taara is my best friend. If I don't spend time with her, then who else will I spend time with?" I ask. "Ok, ok, fine, now you go and change," she says. "Yes mom, I'll be back," I say and head up to my room.

I am cleaning up the kitchen when Papa walks in. "Good morning Papa," I say. "Good morning princess. Who had come here so early in the morning?" he asks, sitting down at the table. "Papa, Mrityunjay had stopped by," I say, pouring his tea. I hand him the cup and sit down next to him. "Mrityunjay hasn't even been back for a day and all of this has begun once again?" he asks. "Papa, you know Mrityunjay. His day doesn't begin until he does something to annoy me," I said. "Ok, that's all fine. Now you go and get ready. You have to go help Nrimila with the preperations," Papa says. "Yes Papa," I say and hurry to get ready.

I ring the doorbell and Aunty opens the door. "Good morning Aunty," I say, walking in. "Good morning beta," she says. "So Aunty, tell me what I have to do. All of the preperations are done but if there is still anything left, let me know. I don't want anything to go wrong in this party," I say. "Taara, why don't you go shopping with Mrityunjay? He needs a suit for the party right, and if you like anything, make sure that you buy something for yourself as well." "Yes Aunty, I'll just go get Mrityunjay."

I head up stairs and walk into his room and say, "Mrityunjay, where are you?" I look around when suddenly; Mrityunjay comes out of the bathroom in only a towel. I quickly turn around.

"Taara, what are you doing here?" he asks. "Couldn't you wear clothes and come out? Anyways, leave it. Get ready quickly and come downstairs. We have to go out," I say and run out. "But where are we going?" he calls behind me. "Shopping," I say and run downstairs. "What happened Taara?" Aunty asks as I came down the stairs. "Aunty, your son is so shameless. He came out of the bathroom in just a towel. Why would anyone do that?" I say. "Mrityunjay, bhi na. You sit, he'll be down in any second," Aunty says. I sit down on the couch, waiting for Mrityunjay.

I am in the bathroom when I hear someone walk into my room. Who is it? I open the door and see Taara there. "Mrityunjay, where are you?" she says. She turns around and sees me and quickly turns back.

"Taara, what are you doing here?" I ask. "Couldn't you wear clothes and come out?" she asks in return. I look down and see that I am only wearing a towel and turn around. "Anyways, leave it. Get ready quickly and come downstairs. We have to go out," She leaves the room and I call behind her, "But where are we going?" "Shopping," she calls out. Shopping? For what? I quickly go back into the bathroom and put on my clothes. I come downstairs and see Taara sitting on the couch. "Normally guys are the ones waiting for girls, but here we have the complete opposite," she says, standing up. "Yeah, yeah. Now tell me why we are going shopping," I sat. "Aunty didn't tell you?" I shake my head no. "There's a party tomorrow night. Uncle said that he is going to be making a big announcement there. Also, we have to buy clothes, which is why we are going shopping. Now let's go." I wondered what announcement Dad wanted to make now...

"Ok, let's go," I say. She links her arm with mine and smiles at me. I smile back and we head out to the front.
