Why do international stars not have shows in India?

I was just thinking about this the other day and found it odd. I am talking about those stars like Beyonc, Rihanna etc, who have world tours, and go all over the world to entertain- except INDIA! Why do you think that is?

There have been occasional visits by Katy Perry, etc, and Beyonc had done a show in Mumbai in 2005 But India is never "apart of the list" of the countries they will visit every year.

But they will visit places like Dubai, Singapore, Israel, Morocco, Philippines, Turkey, Venezuela, Macau etc, not saying there is anything wrong with these places - but India has a more prominent entertainment industry yet they are completely avoided.

Your thoughts?

Oh i am waiting for d day when britney justin timberlake beyonce eminem will perform at india but i dont think it will ever happen! Nd maybe performing at india is not profitable

The market? Idk are pop stars as popular in India as in other countries? And would the market be willing to pay eons to see them?

Works the other way for us actually. We have Rihanna, Queen Bee, Will.I.Am, Eminem, Gaga and others touring Sydney every year, but a Bollywood troup comes once in a very big while. SRK had a temptations tour here last year but before that we've had just about nil Bollywood shows.

Eminem's concert is tomorrow. Aah so excited, I blew a month's savings to go to this. Better be good. 😈

Multiple Reasons
Red Tape (It takes months of groundwork to organise an event), Low Ticket Rates (It would be difficult to even cover costs), Lack of Infrastructure, Security Threats and Govt Intereference.
Plus theres always someone sitting on a Dharna per concert.

I think it's mainly because India already has a very strong star system here. We're usually quite content with the entertainment that our Indian industry provides us. Unlike most other countries, Hollywood hasn't been able to dominate over our own films. Which is probably not the case in many other countries, including the ones you mentioned. I would assume that's why India doesn't get to see most of the international singers.

Well first of all...i guess audience... though india has a class which would be definitely interested and excited but not too much...the cost will be a problem especially bcz of exchange rates...and then there are enough tamashas going on and on...who knows kis religious sangthan ko kisi se problem hi jaye...security issues...and so on!

Michael Jackson came to india bak in the mid 90s. In 1996. Hundreds of thousands went to see him, he was one of the first to even hold a concert in Bombay aka Mumbai
