I doubt they are gonna kill his character. His character is one of the most imp and since I haven't seen humsafar, I can't comment on whether BI is following it because Farhan said, he's not following any show and he hasn't seen humsfar so if Bi and that show have similarties, it's purely coincidental.

I don't think they will kill off usman saab's character. He is the only one who is holding the family. I think people are reading too much into that one dialog, he probably said it in the sense that neither Fahad or Zain or Suryia will mention Talaq ... he wants to be the last one to say it as an example and no one else will say it after this day. Perhaps a better way to look as your question would be " will a debilitating illness befall usman saab? ... highly likely, that way he'll get to see what is truly going on in his wife's head/ how manipulative the ladies of his house really are ..and perhaps this Sudma will make Aliya's Character even stronger!!! So whatever is in store for us ..I don't think it means Usman saab's death
