PEOPLE LIKE PAYAL DON'T EXIST FOR ME
About two years back, actors Payal Rohatgi (inset) and Karan Patel (right) hit the headlines when the former openly called the latter a "rapist" on Twitter, after Karan allegedly tried to get cosy with Payal on a reality show. Later, Karan reportedly even tried to barge into her residence. Ask Karan if he has moved on from that bitter phase of mudslinging, and pat comes his reply, "Who Payal? Those are people, who don't exist for me." But what about her allegations? "They were all rubbish... they weren't true at all," he reiterates.
The 30-year-old rose to fame with the character of Robbie Sir in the Ekta Kapoor TV drama, Kasturi (2007). Interestingly, while most actors are romantically linked up with their co-stars, Karan is infamous for his cold vibes with them, which was further fuelled by the bitter fights that he often had with actor Shubhangi Atre, who played Kasturi. Now, back on the tube after a short stint in Bollywood, Karan plays the role of an angry, arrogant man named Raman Bhalla in Ekta Kapoor's latest, Yeh Hai Mohabattein. And once again, there's buzz that he and co-star Divyanka Tripathi are not even on talking terms amid shots, much like their onscreen relationship. Karan, however, says that it's not true. It's true that I never got along with Shubhangi, but Divyanka and I are quite pally... We're great friends and she's a wonderful actor to work with."
Sources also claim that Karan's short temper has, more often than not, been an issue on the sets. But, the actor says that he doesn't have any such issues, and is certainly not the angry guy' in real life. "I'm a very chilled out person in real life, but then, yes, I am very moody!" he says.
