Artifice has becoming like a daily order even for the senior reputed actresses in todays times. And Juhi chawla is no exception to the league. Almost all the interviews in recent times questioned her about how she decided to take Gulaab Gang alongside Madhuri dixit. Starting from the first press conference to the latest interviews she answered beautifully to the questions.But all her answers talked about how she initially was sceptical.to play negative. Thats fine but She tried to convey through to the journalists that she thought a lot about working with madhuri before giving her green signal for the film.
Juhi in her interviews told how she was made to convince about her role and she asked 100 questions to the director before signing in.
The question arises is
this is the Juhi chawla who did a totally insignificant trash role along side her very very young and junior sonakshi sinha in son of sardar. and around 9 years back there were films like where she played akshay Kumar's sister in Ek rishta where karishma was paired opposite Akshay.
At that time why didnt Juhi reject it? Why didnt she ask for Heroine's role. Even in son of sardar why didnt she ask to pair opposite ajay devgan. That time she didnt think of rejecting cause she knows her market value has fallen down and she can just do supporting roles.
But at the time of Gulaab Gang she is behaving as if it was very hard decision for her to act and she signed only after being convinced that her role is equally strong opposite madhuri.
Her aspiration to do strong role dint reflect when she did that trash movie son of sardar.
Juhi is a fabulous actress ,awesomely good performance with roles like in My brother Nikhil. But again when at this stage of career she acts pricey, it damages the goodness she has built around. What is there to feel shy to accept that she is lucky to get a mainstream important film Gulab gang and an important role after a long time, or else she wud hv continued playing second lead to sonakshi, deepika, katrina ahead.
Among 90's only Madhuri Dixit and Kajol have survived and still get lead roles ..whereas even Tabu is doing the insignificant role in jai Ho. Raveena tandon didnt hit well althoiugh she is doing cameo in bombay velvet. Karishma kapoor another fine actress could have done better but she is no considered (thanks to babita kapoor's interference in all matters). Urmila matondkar is extinct. Manisha is ill, Sonali bendre and shilpa shetty busy with TV.
Preity Zinta, Sushmita sen are much younger to madhuri and they started long back in late 90's. They are no more in scene but Kajol, Madhuri are still there in limelight . And Juhi should also try to build up herself in their own zone .And it seems Gullab Gang has alreadygenerated a lot of hype .If it does well it will be equally beneficial for Juhi and she can say bye to supporting roles.
