~Chapter 7~
It was a day before the Masquerade Ball for the students. The Masquerade ball was almost as important as prom, you could call it another prom, except this was much more formal.
Every year, the college would go to a different resort, in different places with the finalists (almost graduates), and throw a Masquerade ball just before graduation.
The Masquerade ball required all students to come wearing masks, and something formal. It was one of the highlights of every student's life, the ball was what others called 'the place for lovers' as all lovers were united in that very hall.
Zoya, Nikhat, and Humaira were very excited for the ball. They would go dress shopping together, mask shopping together, get their hairs done, and everything else a girl would do for the most exciting night of her life!
Humaira was excited as well as sad, as this would be the last time she would be going to a ball as a single, she would be soon known as a married woman and she didn't like it at all. She hoped that Ayaan asked her to the ball, so that she could spend some final quality time with the people she loved the most.
Nikhat and Imraan would be going together, as they had already confessed to each other, the only thing left was confessing to their friends.
And last but not least, there was Zoya. Zoya was furious! She was waiting for one whole week for Asad to ask her to the Masquerade ball, but that never came. Did he not feel anything for me? What happened a few days ago? Did he . . .? No, he still loves me. There were several questions running through Zoya's mind, and she couldn't exactly get the right answer to them.

"Girls!! It's time for some shopping!" Nikhat said, waving her hands in the air.
"Niks? I'm so angry at you!" Humaira shouted, surprising Nikhat.
Nikhat immediately thought that her friends found out about her and Imraan, and she was shocked out of her wits. She wasn't prepared for this, her friends would ask her a million questions, and Nikhat did not know how to answer them!
"W-w-what are y-you talking a-a-bout . . .?" Nikhat stumbled.
"You didn't tell us that . . . you got your nails done already!!" Zoya said laughing.
"Come on! Show them to me!" Humaira spoke, sternly, as she grabbed Nikhat's hand and admired her manicure.
Nikhat sighed of relief and slumped down onto their sofa as she had a tiring day. She checked her phone and saw that she had an incoming text from Imraan.
Imraan:
Hey Niks ! Whatcha wearing to the dance tmrrw ?
Nikhat replied and went to take a cold shower, leaving her phone lying on her bed.
Nikhat:
I'm not telling! 😳
While Nikhat was in the shower, humming to Be Intehaan, remembering Asad and Zoya's performance on the campfire night, her phone buzzed as she got another incoming text.
Zoya got up and went to check it as that is what the three of them were supposed to do, when an incoming text comes and they aren't around, the other will answer the phone!
So, Zoya got up and went to check Nikhat's phone. She saw that it was Imraan, and thought it was not important, but she was thinking as to why Imraan was calling so late in the night. It was almost midnight!
Zoya got worried and thought that maybe it was an emergency, but what if Nikhat gets angry at her for checking her message?
Zoya was interrupted of her thoughts as Humaira spoke, "What happened Zoe?"
Z0ya explained everything to Humaira and both of them thought that it was right to check as it might be an emergency. They unlocked her phone and were shocked out of their wits at the message Imraan sent her.
Imraan:
Babe tell me nah? We need to be matching, after all we r dating?
Babe? Matching? Dating? Shocker. Humaira and Zoya couldn't believe their eyes, Imraan and Nikhat were dating?
At the same time, Nikhat was coming out of the washroom as her cold shower was done. She was wrapping a towel around her wet hair, and gasped when she saw Zoya and Humaira searching through her phone.
Did they see Imraan's text?

In the meantime, Asad and Ayaan were watching a cricket game- well Ayaan was. The whole room was a mess as Ayaan brought some chips, pizza, and a bag full of candy.
Ayaan had planned a bro's night out, but it did not work out as Imraan couldn't make it because he was going to meet his aunt. Imraan told Ayaan, and Ayaan of course did not stop him, because he did not have the brain too. Imraan did not have an aunt who lives in Bora Bora! He was going to Hotel Swan, a famous restaurant in Bora Bora with Nikhat.
Asad reached their dorm just a few minutes after Imraan left, and saw the room was already a huge mess! Asad couldn't stay to watch the cricket match as he was shopping for presents, for his mother and sister. He had promised them he would bring something special for them.
Meanwhile the room . . . it had some empty chip bags on the bed, open coca-cola bottles, pouring on the wooden floor, popcorn all over the sofa, and a half-eaten pizza on the sofa.
Asad looked at the room in disgust and started to tiptoe all the way to where Ayaan was. When he reached, he saw Ayaan, eating pizza covered with gummy worms, eyes glued to the TV.
"Yes! COME ON!! Woo-hoo!" Ayaan cheered.
He was shouting at the TV, until he noticed a silhouette, Ayaan looked towards the door and saw Asad standing there, glaring at him furiously.
Asad had managed to clean most of the room up, but he couldn't stand being in this room anymore. He turned to leave when he saw a picture of Zoya on the ground covered in chocolate sauce and pizza stains.
Asad had taken that picture of Zoya when they all went to the beach. It was the only picture he had of Zoya and he had warned both his friends, not to touch it . . . ever. Imraan and Ayaan were suspicious at first, but then promised never to touch it.
Ayaan gave his best friend a small smile and said, "Asad . . . you're back?"
Ayaan looked over to what Asad was holding and saw the picture of Zoya. The one where he had promised never to touch. Boy was he in trouble!

"Nikhat you're back!" Humaira said, smiling.
"I was just taking a shower . . . uh . . . my phone?" Nikhat replied.
"Oh, this?! We were just playing Flappy Bird! Humaira and I were having a competition and our phones were out of charge so . . . I hope you don't mind?" Zoya explained, sheepishly.
Nikhat, being the girl she is, bought Humaira and Zoya's lame story and sighed of relief. She managed to keep her and Imraan's secret, or she thought she managed.
"So Nikhat . . . how's life?" Humaira asked, fidgeting with her hands.
Humaira and Zoya did not want to reveal the truth to Nikhat so fast. They wanted to see how long Nikhat would make them wait until she told the truth to them. They wanted to see if she would ever tell them.
"Not bad, you?" Nikhat spoke.
"Same here!" Humaira and Zoya said at the same time.
"So Nikhat, the Masquerade Ball is coming and . . ."
"And?" Nikhat interrupted Zoya.
"Are you going with anyone?" Zoya continued.
"Yes."

Humaira and Zoya were walking furiously to the boys dorm. Nikhat had revealed everything about Imraan and her as she could never keep a secret, especially from her best friends. While talking, she also revealed how Asad and Ayaan already had dates.
Asad was taking Shivani and Ayaan was taking Nisha.
Zoya and Humaira reached the boys dorm and knocked dangerously. They were going to teach these boys a lesson.

In the girls dorm Nikhat was alone. She tried to stop the girls from leaving, but was too scared as she was the only one who saw how Humaira and Zoya were when they were angry. It would be too dangerous to stop them now.
Nikhat was sitting in her room, watching Pretty Little Liars and munching on some popcorn. She got a phone call from Imraan, she smiled and picked it up.
"Hey!" Nikhat squealed.
"What's up babe?" Imraan said, sweetly.
"Nothing much, just sitting alone watching PLL." Nikhat replied.
"Where are the girls? Aren't they with you?"
"They were a while ago, but then I told them about us."
"Oh really? What did they say?" Imraan questioned.
"They were okay with it, just angry a bit because I never told them earlier. I also told them how Asad is taking Shivani and Ayaan is taking Nisha. They were really angry, anyway tell me why did they ask those two girls anyway?" Nikhat said, sheepishly.
"Oh my gosh. Nikhat what did you do?!" Imraan shouted.
"Relax Imraan, why are you shouting? I just told them what you told me!" Nikhat said, annoyingly.
Imraan huffed in annoyance and replied angrily, "I was joking Nikhat! Can't you take a joke?"
Nikhat gasped and was sweating with fear. These girls could do anything when they were angry, if something bad happens, it would all be her fault! She would wreck the ball for all four of them!
Nikhat quickly hung up and tried calling Zoya and Humaira. No answer. She kept on calling, praying they would pick up. She kept on getting sent to voicemail.
Ya allah! What have I done?!
