thats why i was asking about the clothing... iknow that i dont have to wear a sari, and that a lot of people dont... but would it be offensive if i wore like a skirt and little tank top or something, or do the people there not mind...?

skirts n tank tops would be ok..i mean girls in India wear those and i have heard chennai is like a big city so it shudnt be a prob.
but still when u get there see what other ppl wear n wear clothes according to that but in my opinion skirts n tank tops r ok to wear in india.
