The simple answer according to me for the title of my post is 'No'. Today JaJo seemed like couple in complete harmony, singing the same tune, like some angels who do not belong to this world. There was such serenity, affection, connection and pull between the two. Not many words were said, but their feelings were in sync and their strong chemistry transmitted out of the screen to us. The dori tying scene stood out, it was so beautifully done and many thanks to RT and PS for portraying it so well. I had not enjoyed their previous Ajmer trip dori scene, as I could not relate to Jodha who had requested the almighty to be given an opportunity that would allow her to teach Jalal a lesson. Today, we see Jodha becoming Jalal when very humbly she requests the almighty to grant Jalal his wish - just like Jalal had done for her in the past. I applaud this new Jodha - she understood Jalal's wish, prayed for it to come true and via her eyes indicated to Jalal that she is okay with that wish. Is this already not a love confession? Jalal, yet again because of the dhakka did not conclude from this 'Jodha ki naino ki bhasha' that she is okay with him wanting to be with her always. Instead, the shyness in her eyes left Jalal with the thought - if you know my heart's desire, why don't you tell me yours. It's not like Jalal is not astute enough to read Jodha's hints, gestures, eyes or words. It's just the repeated fuss about physical relationship that Jodha made in the past are keeping him little reserved.
I thought Lavina did extremely well today in portraying the insecurity of Ruqu. She follows them around like a kid, gets upset like a toddler when all the worldly comforts are missing and then fights with Jalal for not sharing the mat. She very adoringly tells Hoshiyar to keep calling her begum, that gave her a childish hope of still being a begum that was living in hut. She is indeed a tantrum child of Jalal, who needs lot of assurance from Jalal that her spot is safe. I could see the irritation Jalal felt on Ruqu's request of not travelling as an aam aadmi. But, he loves Ruqu too much as an old friend and held back his complains as he knew it would hurt her. Jalal is clearly able to see and understand after Ruqu's arrival why he was always lonely, why his heart always desired Jodha inspite of her rejection. It was because Ruqu could never do things that would make Jalal the person or the husband happy. He can see on the other hand that Jodha does not want to leave a single opportunity of taking care of him, loving him, being there for him. It was very clear to Jalal that Jodha will always be his wife first and Ruqu will always be the queen first. I somehow felt strongly that after showing this kind of bond, CVs would not create any big MU between them. I felt pretty positive today that the dhakka night mystery will be used by CVs to force Jodha to confess her feelings in the most dramatic ways.
It was sad to see Ruqu wanting to do the yatra for the sake of jealousy only. Jalal had so clearly said that they are traveling as aam aadmi because that would give him happiness, not because of Jodha. But, Ruqu decided to go not for Jalal's happiness but to make sure that JaJo don't get closer. She then decides to cook not for Jalal, but to make sure Jodha is not the only one getting credit. Ruqu was basically a kid trying to get Jalal's attention without doing anything that would please him. The scenes between the three gave me a feeling that Ruqu was the spoilt kid of JaJo, please don't hit me for saying thatđ. I am basically saying that Ruqu kept throwing tantrums, but Jalal and Jodha both handled her delicately and maturely. They did that because they love Ruuq and know that deep down she means good. They understand that after so many years of being close to Jalal, she is little insecure. Ruqu realized during this trip how attracted Jalal is towards Jodha. She also shockingly realizes that Jodha understands Jalal much better than she could ever do in so many years of marriage. How hesitant was Ruqu in presenting her burnt rotis and how calm Jodha was in explaining that Jalal would love her roti the most. I applaud Jalal for being sensitive to Ruqu's childish demands and tantrums, shows how loyal he is to his dear ones. Jalal understood that Ruqu kicked Jodha out of the hut, yet he does not shout at Ruqu. Its because he knows Jodha would not mind these kind of small petty acts of Ruqu and is more adjusting. I was touched by Jalal and Jodha for not doing anything that would hurt Ruqu's feelings. Don't we all do something similar when a kid throws tantrums - we tend to ignore it. But, when the same kid does something completely unreasonable or disrespectful then the kid is admonished and so will Ruqu be by Jalal when her tantrums become bigger. Its a matter of time before Ruqu realizes that its beyond her or anyone to break the special pure bond that Jodha and Jalal share. They are so in sync, that its hard to say who is Jalal or who is Jodha.
After the dhakka night there was this constant agony filled expression on Jalal's face, it bothered me to no extent. I am so happy these days for Jalal as those sad expressions are now replaced by a beautiful content smile on his face. He has never received such selfless love or care from anyone. Whoever gave him anything, took away lot more from him. His khanbaba also seemed to have poisoned him against many people to his advantage. I was so glad when Jalal found out the reality of Todarmal and the hatred that was planted by khanbaba was dissolved. Then, there is MA who might have given him some care and love. But, she also has given him so many deep wounds which might be equivalent to taking his life. I dread the day Jalal finds out about MA's reality. So happy, that atleast Jodha would be there to bring him out of this pain when it happens. Time and again Jalal has seen Jodha give this love to Hamida, Rahim or her Amer waasis. Jalal always desired that love from Jodha, he gets it after such a long wait. No wonder that smile filled with serenity, calmness and contentment is stuck on his face always now. We see that smile when he watches Jodha from the jharoka in the first scene. The scene where Ruqu is mad at him for not having any sipashis around him in chisti's place. Jalal is at peace that finally he has a companion who is happy just being with him and does not care what the circumstances are. No wonder Jalal's eyes depicted the desire of wanting to be next to Jodha.
Jodha on the other hand always received genuine love and care from family. She was surrounded by people who pampered her and fulfilled her every wish. But, never did we see this kind of divine happiness on her face - the one that started showing up last week in angoori baagh. Yes, that happiness is because the 'roothe hue balam' Jalal is not ruthofied anymore. No wonder she checks with Moti ki how come Jalal is being so nice to her. She waited so patiently for Jalal to come around. She stayed strong when threat of Jalal's life was glaring at her face, which was worsened by Jalal ignoring all her pleads. She knew during this entire phase that the DHAKKA was bothering him, that was why he was ruthofied. After the sacrifice, Jodha is shocked and sad to hear that Jalal brings it up still many times. Yet, she fails to clarify it. One part of me feels that she feels its okay if Jalal is mad or angry at her. She is in that stage where no matter what Jalal says or does, she is going to stand by him and not get mad at him. Just like she did during the Ben track. The other part of me feels that she might be too shy to talk openly about it. But, there were so many ways to talk about her feelings like she did when Jalal asked why did she save his life.. So, I am still not completely sure as to why she is not clarifying the dhakka night.
Precap: I went back to the bodyheat track. The difference though is that Jodha was chudail then, but now as per Jalal is an Apsara. So, Jalal don't have so many reservations, if you try touching her hair she might let you do that and who knows what more..I know bodyheat track she threw a fit at your hand being close to her face. But, that Jodha is such an old story..So buddy gather the courage and go with your feelings..đ
P.S.
I am not writing regularly these days due to work load, and if I do its at odd hours. If you would like me to ping you with my post, please send me a buddy request.
