I have to thank CVs yet again for such excellent, positive and creative episodes. The consistency in the lead actors without any melodrama has been a treat to watch this entire week. The biggest thing that I appreciated was that they have tried to keep Jodha and Jalal as equals, and the love story looks more balanced now. We saw many instances this week where Jodha has stepped up her love game with Jalal, more on this later. Its not like my Jalal is lagging behind, he is just being little cautious as Jodha does not seem to clarify the DHAKKA mystery.

The simple answer according to me for the title of my post is 'No'. Today JaJo seemed like couple in complete harmony, singing the same tune, like some angels who do not belong to this world. There was such serenity, affection, connection and pull between the two. Not many words were said, but their feelings were in sync and their strong chemistry transmitted out of the screen to us. The dori tying scene stood out, it was so beautifully done and many thanks to RT and PS for portraying it so well. I had not enjoyed their previous Ajmer trip dori scene, as I could not relate to Jodha who had requested the almighty to be given an opportunity that would allow her to teach Jalal a lesson. Today, we see Jodha becoming Jalal when very humbly she requests the almighty to grant Jalal his wish - just like Jalal had done for her in the past. I applaud this new Jodha - she understood Jalal's wish, prayed for it to come true and via her eyes indicated to Jalal that she is okay with that wish. Is this already not a love confession? Jalal, yet again because of the dhakka did not conclude from this 'Jodha ki naino ki bhasha' that she is okay with him wanting to be with her always. Instead, the shyness in her eyes left Jalal with the thought - if you know my heart's desire, why don't you tell me yours. It's not like Jalal is not astute enough to read Jodha's hints, gestures, eyes or words. It's just the repeated fuss about physical relationship that Jodha made in the past are keeping him little reserved.

I thought Lavina did extremely well today in portraying the insecurity of Ruqu. She follows them around like a kid, gets upset like a toddler when all the worldly comforts are missing and then fights with Jalal for not sharing the mat. She very adoringly tells Hoshiyar to keep calling her begum, that gave her a childish hope of still being a begum that was living in hut. She is indeed a tantrum child of Jalal, who needs lot of assurance from Jalal that her spot is safe. I could see the irritation Jalal felt on Ruqu's request of not travelling as an aam aadmi. But, he loves Ruqu too much as an old friend and held back his complains as he knew it would hurt her. Jalal is clearly able to see and understand after Ruqu's arrival why he was always lonely, why his heart always desired Jodha inspite of her rejection. It was because Ruqu could never do things that would make Jalal the person or the husband happy. He can see on the other hand that Jodha does not want to leave a single opportunity of taking care of him, loving him, being there for him. It was very clear to Jalal that Jodha will always be his wife first and Ruqu will always be the queen first. I somehow felt strongly that after showing this kind of bond, CVs would not create any big MU between them. I felt pretty positive today that the dhakka night mystery will be used by CVs to force Jodha to confess her feelings in the most dramatic ways.

It was sad to see Ruqu wanting to do the yatra for the sake of jealousy only. Jalal had so clearly said that they are traveling as aam aadmi because that would give him happiness, not because of Jodha. But, Ruqu decided to go not for Jalal's happiness but to make sure that JaJo don't get closer. She then decides to cook not for Jalal, but to make sure Jodha is not the only one getting credit. Ruqu was basically a kid trying to get Jalal's attention without doing anything that would please him. The scenes between the three gave me a feeling that Ruqu was the spoilt kid of JaJo, please don't hit me for saying that😃. I am basically saying that Ruqu kept throwing tantrums, but Jalal and Jodha both handled her delicately and maturely. They did that because they love Ruuq and know that deep down she means good. They understand that after so many years of being close to Jalal, she is little insecure. Ruqu realized during this trip how attracted Jalal is towards Jodha. She also shockingly realizes that Jodha understands Jalal much better than she could ever do in so many years of marriage. How hesitant was Ruqu in presenting her burnt rotis and how calm Jodha was in explaining that Jalal would love her roti the most. I applaud Jalal for being sensitive to Ruqu's childish demands and tantrums, shows how loyal he is to his dear ones. Jalal understood that Ruqu kicked Jodha out of the hut, yet he does not shout at Ruqu. Its because he knows Jodha would not mind these kind of small petty acts of Ruqu and is more adjusting. I was touched by Jalal and Jodha for not doing anything that would hurt Ruqu's feelings. Don't we all do something similar when a kid throws tantrums - we tend to ignore it. But, when the same kid does something completely unreasonable or disrespectful then the kid is admonished and so will Ruqu be by Jalal when her tantrums become bigger. Its a matter of time before Ruqu realizes that its beyond her or anyone to break the special pure bond that Jodha and Jalal share. They are so in sync, that its hard to say who is Jalal or who is Jodha.

After the dhakka night there was this constant agony filled expression on Jalal's face, it bothered me to no extent. I am so happy these days for Jalal as those sad expressions are now replaced by a beautiful content smile on his face. He has never received such selfless love or care from anyone. Whoever gave him anything, took away lot more from him. His khanbaba also seemed to have poisoned him against many people to his advantage. I was so glad when Jalal found out the reality of Todarmal and the hatred that was planted by khanbaba was dissolved. Then, there is MA who might have given him some care and love. But, she also has given him so many deep wounds which might be equivalent to taking his life. I dread the day Jalal finds out about MA's reality. So happy, that atleast Jodha would be there to bring him out of this pain when it happens. Time and again Jalal has seen Jodha give this love to Hamida, Rahim or her Amer waasis. Jalal always desired that love from Jodha, he gets it after such a long wait. No wonder that smile filled with serenity, calmness and contentment is stuck on his face always now. We see that smile when he watches Jodha from the jharoka in the first scene. The scene where Ruqu is mad at him for not having any sipashis around him in chisti's place. Jalal is at peace that finally he has a companion who is happy just being with him and does not care what the circumstances are. No wonder Jalal's eyes depicted the desire of wanting to be next to Jodha.

Jodha on the other hand always received genuine love and care from family. She was surrounded by people who pampered her and fulfilled her every wish. But, never did we see this kind of divine happiness on her face - the one that started showing up last week in angoori baagh. Yes, that happiness is because the 'roothe hue balam' Jalal is not ruthofied anymore. No wonder she checks with Moti ki how come Jalal is being so nice to her. She waited so patiently for Jalal to come around. She stayed strong when threat of Jalal's life was glaring at her face, which was worsened by Jalal ignoring all her pleads. She knew during this entire phase that the DHAKKA was bothering him, that was why he was ruthofied. After the sacrifice, Jodha is shocked and sad to hear that Jalal brings it up still many times. Yet, she fails to clarify it. One part of me feels that she feels its okay if Jalal is mad or angry at her. She is in that stage where no matter what Jalal says or does, she is going to stand by him and not get mad at him. Just like she did during the Ben track. The other part of me feels that she might be too shy to talk openly about it. But, there were so many ways to talk about her feelings like she did when Jalal asked why did she save his life.. So, I am still not completely sure as to why she is not clarifying the dhakka night.

Precap: I went back to the bodyheat track. The difference though is that Jodha was chudail then, but now as per Jalal is an Apsara. So, Jalal don't have so many reservations, if you try touching her hair she might let you do that and who knows what more..I know bodyheat track she threw a fit at your hand being close to her face. But, that Jodha is such an old story..So buddy gather the courage and go with your feelings..😉

P.S.
I am not writing regularly these days due to work load, and if I do its at odd hours. If you would like me to ping you with my post, please send me a buddy request.

Meghana, as always a beautiful post and thanks for taking the time in a busy schedule.
Love your title as you always ask very poignant questions - I also agree that they don't need to make a formal love confession , their eyes say it all. They were united together during the mannat scene and the whole episode- even in the way they both treated Ruqs in a unified way.

I know why Jalal is holding back- the shove. But,the question is why is Jodha holding back? I don't think it is because she does not want to admit she is wrong. Is it shyness or is she worried that Jalal's love may not last forever- perhaps, how Jalal defends his love to Ruqs may help her.

Any thoughts on Jodha's hesitance?

P.S. Obviously I cannot tell the difference between edit post and new post- apologies for cluttering your post. 😉

Lovely Maghana, even I liked the episode and as I said in Shyamala's thread, even if Jalal sleeps next to Ruqu's for a while, I don't have complaints, we all know Jalal loves Jo and to show that he loves her, he doesn't have to support her from others all the time. Now they are at an understanding level and I think these issues doesn't affect their relationship, but yes it will affect/reflect his relationship with Ruqu's or whoever who tries to do such petty things.

meghna, i am mesmerized and spellbound after reading your post! you have taken the pearls of positivity from the episode and put them together in a beautiful necklace in the form of this wonderful post! a much needed one! i too was impressed how jalal treated ruq, in fact how both treated her in sync..one did the action and the other understood it with no hard feelings in the heart...now this is called maturity and sensibiliyt! i would have hated to see jalal being rude with ruq or ignoring her, he appreciated her burnt roti and also made sure that her feelings are not hurt..how thoughtful! and he knows that jodha is the more mature one and will understand why he is doing what he is doing..even at the end when jodha said she wants to sleep outside jalal was looking at her unhappy face with concern, how beautiful that was!

ruq will understand with time, as this is something new for her as well..she has been the chief queen so far, now its hard for her to see that spot being given to someone else!

I agree! Is a love confession even needed at this point? Their love for another can clearly be seen in their actions. At this point, I think both of them are aware of the fact that they have some sort of feelings for each other. Jalal knows he is in love with Jodha. He outright knows what he feels. Jodha on the other hand knows that she has some sort of feelings for Jalal, but for some reason she isn't able to label what she feels. But I am more than happy to watch their relationship in this phase! I think it's super cute.

Coming to Ruq! I agree that Lavina did a great job today! I actually found Ruq's character and actions kind of cute today. Of course I didn't find it cute when she was insulting or being rude to Jodha, but I found it to be cute when she was marching to the beat of her own drums. In some sense you can say to her own drums. What I am trying to say is that she's not like Jodha, but at the same time I could relate to her character today! You could see the bond she has with Jalal. I love how she was trying to "shush" Hoshiyar when he kept passing comments even though I am sure the same thing was going through her mind and he was probably just voicing her thoughts. I loved how she thought for a moment that Jodha agreed with her when it came to spending the night in a hut. I absolutely loved when she saw Jalal sitting on the mat and asked him to share with her because he shouldn't be so selfish. I feel like these are things that most people would do in real life with someone who they have been best friends with for a long time. I loved seeing Ruq and Jalal's friendship. I love Jodha and Jalal as a couple, but I think as friends, Jalal and Ruq make a wonderful team. At least in today's episode.

Hi Divya,
Thank you for the kind words.😊
I love creating titles for every post and am so happy that you always seem to notice, thanks for that!
So true na, their approach was so unified..
Inspired by your question, I added a last para about Jodha. Why she is holding back, not completely sure though..
I think its just cvs way of using this to show something else to us. For now I am going to assume that they are going to show something positive out of this.

No worries on multiple posts, especially when they are coming from you Divya!😊

Hi Meghana,

Great Analysis as usual. 👏
And once again I found that you and me has similar thoughts on the episode. 😳
I also did not find anything wrong in Jalal's stand towards Ruq as many did find.
My replies are inline.

Love

You hit in the nail. They both are balanced right now.👍🏼

It's not like Jalal is not astute enough to read Jodha's hints, gestures, eyes or words. It's just the repeated fuss about physical relationship that Jodha made in the past are keeping him little reserved.

Jalal can read people, he must be feeling the affection and love brimming from Jodha's eyes. Until and unless Jodha her self realize her love, how can Jalal be sure? He is still smarting from the Dhakka incident. That is a thorn which keeps Jalal from making a move on Jodha. There is such a change in the way Jalal gazes at Jodha with all the love and tenderness. Never seen him looking at anyone like that. All this trip, he is like this young husband in love with his wife. In a way they are newly married. You can see that he is enjoying these new sensations and feelings, which he never thought he could feel. He loves being in love. They have found a new hope and new dimension to thier relationship and they both are still exploring this new thing.

I somehow felt strongly that after showing this kind of bond, CVs would not create any big MU between them. I felt pretty positive today that the dhakka night mystery will be used by CVs to force Jodha to confess her feelings in the most dramatic ways.

He now knows what he wants for Jalal, not what he wants for Shehenshah. He always thought that he is only an emporer and that all his needs were of a shehenshah. Only now, he is thinking for Jalal. He realized that he neglected Jalal and thus found himself so lonely all the time. He wants a wife, a companion and a partner who is his equal. He wants someone who will be with him and take care of him irrespective of the circumstances. He has seen Jodha taking care of Jalal even in the palace and in this yatra with the same devotion. He sees that she is happy when he pays attention to her and where they are does not matter to her, only that they are together. She places his needs and wishes above her audha/jewellary. I can go on and on...

They are so in sync, that its hard to say who is Jalal or who is Jodha.

OMG.. About the highlighted..I thought the same thing. 😆 I wrote also in one of Shraddha's post. And I too feel that Jalal is behaving sensitively with Ruq. He wants to be with Jodha without hurting his childhood friend. After all, Ruq is also an imporatant person in his life. In fact the only important person in his life till Jodha came along. He now only knows that Jodha and Ruq are important to him. But, he still learning how to balance and compartmentalize them in his life. Also, it is very easy for him to say shut up to Ruq. But, what will happen to Jodha then? in Agra, Ruq holds a lot of clout. And she has already sent Jodha from her hojra behind his back. Jalal knows that he can not be around Jodha 24x7 and thus can not help her whenever Ruq does something. I think he will slowly make Ruq realsize his stand on Jodha.

After the dhakka night there was this constant agony expression on Jalal's face, it bothered me to no extent. I am so happy these days for Jalal as those sad expressions are now replaced by a beautiful content smile on his face. He has never received such selfless love or care from anyone. Whoever gave him anything, took away lot more from him. His khanbaba also seemed to have poisoned him against many people to his advantage. I was so glad when Jalal finds out the reality of Todarmal and the hatred that was planted by khanbaba was dissolved. Then, there is MA who might have given him some care and love. But, she has given him so many deep wounds which were equivalent to taking his life. I dread the day Jalal finds out about MA's reality. So happy, that atleast Jodha would be there to bring him out of this pain when it happens. Time and again Jalal has seen Jodha give this love to Hamida, Rahim or her Amer waasi. No wonder Jalal's eyes depicted the desire of wanting to be next to Jodha.

So true.. Jalal is so content right now.

Precap: I went back to the bodyheat track. The difference though is that she was chudail then, but now is an apsara. So, Jalal don't have so many reservations, if you try touching her hair she might let you do that and who knows what more..
