For last almost a year I have stopped watching BV. However recently after going through some written updates, I came to know of the recent event of date rape of Sanchi. She had been under drugs when taken advantage of which is happening every other days especially in metros.

However there are few points I would like to raise.

1. I was amazed to know that the intelligent lady was not able to realize what happened to her after coming to her senses which is simply not possible as per medical science. Even when a girl has consensual sex, marks are left on her body and there is considerable pain due to intercourse. In her case no such thing is shown.

2. Even in the case of Basant and Gehna, never they showed any bruises on Gehna's body. Please note that it was a proper violation of the body, unlike what happened to Sanchi. As I belong to a family of doctors I have heard many such horror stories of rape. The face and whole body would be covered with bruises, bleeding do not stop and the patient remain in a trauma for days. No such thing happened in Gehna's case.

3.It's shown that Saurabh made her wear clothes before leaving, which is quite rare for a rapist. Why would he care to do so? Usually after committing a crime, the criminal tries to get out of the scene ASAP. This is something unnatural. In real world the rapist dump the female in the very same condition after violating the body.

4. Sanchi is still behaving as a Sherni even after knowing what happened to her. Usually after rape, the female feels so helpless, scared and dejected that she hardly speaks to anyone. Here the lady is shown to shout at her rapist.

So not only BV, many such details are concealed in tele-serials. But why? Is it because, they do not wish to show this in a family soap opera or lack of technical knowledge/research in this area?

In the old tracks of basant gehena...where neha marda was playing gehena
not only they show the marks all over her hands...arms...they show she cudnt walk properly...n horrified seeing basant...her physical pain were perfectly detailed n shown as far as cvs cud in 8 pm slot...she even had the marks for long time(till her early pregnancy)...n suspected sugna having that relation with pratap...seeing similar small mark on her neck...
since she was conditioned to be a submissive wife...so the rebeling thing in her came much later...when her power of tolerance crossed the limit
all i can say...you missed gehena track...that was boldest in bv
as far as saanchi is concerned...it was said she has no clue...still in hospital...not getting enough time to think n realise everything completely...
In the precap..it is very clear..she is very disturbed n horrified

Hi Debbie,

Probably they don't want to show great details like bruises on family show like BV.

As of your point 1. - The doctor said in the show that due to date rape drug, the victim does not feel any pain. Her brain and body both gets numb and they don't realize much even after they come to senses. I guess this would be different from Basant-gehna's case, because Basant had used full force on Gehna, while G was trying to retaliate. But here Sau probably didn't use full force since he didn't have to.

Point 2 - They did show G walking a bit weird and in pain. I guess that was enough to depict G's condition and pass on the message on a family show like BV

Point 3: Again it being a family show, they wouldn't have gone into obvious details, which I appreciate, because as a viewer it would be horrifying for me to see something that gross

Point 4: I am glad Sa is behaving as Sherni. I absolutely loved that bit. she is someone who never takes crap from anyone. It's her attitude, and this time it is helping in bringing out the strong side of her. She has cooled down for sure, but she believes in giving back to people if they have done something wrong to her. I think she won't be broken down as far as punishing Saurabh is concerned. She will happily fight for the injustice done to her.

Gehna suffered so much physical abuse night after the consummation of their marriage she could barely walk and she had scratch marks bruises on her body.

Sanchi she had alcohol which was spiked and most of these drugs which are used cause drowsiness deep sleep and also act as pain killers and these drugs make them unresponsive to the rapist.

Since they don't fight back they won't have many wounds.These drugs are given so that the girl is almost unconscious and will not fight back.

Another thing these drugs which have been used on Sanchi those group of drugs by themselves are potent and when combined with alcohol the potency of the drugs and alcohol cause even deep state of unconsciousness and they may even cause temporary amnesia and that's precisely the reason why these are used in non consensual sex.

I remember in Gahna's case even little Anandi saw the marks and complained to her sasu ma that tauji has beaten taiji. Gahna could not walk properly and even Sumitra wept seeing her condition.

In Sanchi case, perhaps the effect of drugs is still there and her senses are numb. And if Sanchi continue to behave like Sherni, it will be better - instead of going through only trauma - if she thinks of getting justice - it will be good message.

I think the clothes part - Maybe saurabh didn't want to draw attention to the fact that she had been raped by him -- he knows saanchi's brother is a collector and her bhabhi anandi was a very strong social worker -- he had his fun and didn't want to get into further trouble by advertising that she had been raped.

On 4th part- Till yesterday's episode, Sanchi is not aware of the seriousness of what actually has happened tp her. In her conversation with Saurabh, she was trying to interrogate him, as she started to have doubt that he might be the person who did it. The fighting spirit is as per her nature.

But obviously after knowing about the video, as expected, she was shattered to the core and broken.

As per this case ,when that particular drug is used ,the person doesnt know anything whats happening,in fact they dont even remember what happened with them,some girls dont even know that they were raped.So i dont think cvs made any blooper because they very clearly highlighted these points.

They showed bruises ,and gehna trauma also but dadisa tried to hide it ,they dint show much in detail may be becoz basant was her husband.

Becoz he wanted to hide his crime ,that was not to protect sanchi not becoz he cared,that was to hide his crime

The girl is just realising ,she is not yet in position to except it ,she is broken,she is going get to worse with his blackmailing and court case.

So not only BV, many such details are concealed in tele-serials. But why? Is it because, they do not wish to show this in a family soap opera or lack of technical knowledge/research in this area?

I dont think there is lack of any technical knowlegde becoz they clarified it earlier,they would never go into details if they dint have any knowledge,Its not necessary that a victim is shown in typical way,everyone mentality is different ,currently sanchi heart is just ready to believe something has happened,I m sure before showing that doctor scene ,cvs must have clarified about these type of cases.

Woman in this position do not realise straight away what has actually happened to them, had anandi not found her sanchi would still be wandering why she couldn't remember a certain chunk of that night, It's only much later they begin to piece together what actually happened, why they feel sore, see the state they are in, what happened before being drugged, how they ended up in a strange place and most times by the time they figure out what actually happened to them the drug is not in their system anymore.
