Chapter 13: Confrontations & Revelations

After bidding a bye to the kids Arnav turned to leave the lobby and strolled towards the hall with a smile when his heart raced, he felt her presence. The environment around signaled him about her very pristine existence, his Khushi's existence. The air was filled with her sweet caress like blows moving his hair falling on his forehead.

Her presence to him was like a shadow always by his side but today he sensed her like he used to, five years ago.

Without her his heart was a loner which only beats when its companion is around, like it is erratically thudding as his heart beat mingled with hers and beating as one.

His sense of speech got constricted unable to bear the overwhelming feel of her, his heart crying with happiness as it sensed her but his eyes were flooded with unshed tears slowly trickling down his cheek in pain unable to see her, his Khushi.

What is this relation of Love he shared with her, he loved her. Her presence got his new breath in his dead soul but the same love is causing him undeniable hurt wishing only to see her once.

On the other hand, Khushi's heart was sinking low with pain by seeing her Arnav vulnerable like this. Only her heart knows

How her heart flutters at the sight of him.

How she always wished to run into his arms to envelope herself in his strong embrace.

How she wished to kiss over all his face to show him her desire provoked in her.

How she want to hold his hand and never let him go.

And the last thing she ever wished is to die in his arms but her fate isn't favorable to let it happen.

Though her heart was denying being away from him and her body wants to be in his embrace, but she can't return to him now that he is married to Pia and ruin his Marriage. Khushi was never a selfish person to take away other's happiness, and whatever she got from her Arnav was more than enough to live for her, till she breathes her last breath.

He gave her a reason to live, not one but two, her beautiful kids, a living example of the Love they shared, Proof of his love on her. She has to leave the lobby soon before her all resolutions to be away from him fades away, she turned to leave but once she turned back to look at him who knows may be this is the last time she got to see him. May be this is the last glance she got of Arnav to cherish for her lifetime.

Now Arnav was standing exactly in front of her, but there was a tinted glass in between them, she can see him, his pained expression and his broken self but he cannot see through the glass.

She gazed into his eyes, stone like and lifeless they turned into, which were full of joy and spark. His pain brought tears in her dove like eyes on very edge, spilling out on her pale cheeks over her quivering lips.

Still unaware of her presence he gently press hand against the glass where Khushi immediately keep her hand to touch him, at least across the glass. She was his and he always belonged to her but they never got united, she bitterly thought to herself. But she have to leave and she started moving backwards slowly step by step still capturing his image in her heart forever.

She ran out of the hotel reached the parking lot and got into her car driving away from the hotel, from her Arnav.

She got to her house and closed her room door and slumped down against the door sobbing loudly, crying her heart out.

After a while someone knocked her door, she opened her door to find Asawari standing there with questioning look, she saw kids were playing with Buaji and turned again towards Asawari to speak her "what happened Asawari? Is something wrong?"

This was her time to ask now, this is enough and now she can't bear it. What was she hiding for her from these years? She always wanted to ask her confront her but always thought she might not be comfortable in sharing her past but what I saw today, the pain flashing in her eyes I need to know the reason. I need to know that why she sent her to that man to get kids? Is he Arnav? She has to open for her. She was here for her as a friend but she never really opened her heart to see her wounded heart. She never reasoned her for her deeds but now she need to face it.

"YES" she stated, "Yes Khushi everything is wrong. Everything is damn wrong! You don't deserve pain. You don't deserve this heart ache. Kids don't deserve to be away from their father and most of all I don't deserve to see the people I love the most in this world broken and incomplete" she said it all in a breath. This was it; she is not staying quiet now.

Her best friend had enough now, from five years she is watching her how she molded herself to be strong, to face everything but today she saw Khushi break vulnerably and this is the time to let the secrets out.

She tried to ask her and help her through her problems since years but Khushi always kept these hidden but not now, not today when she saw her cry in the hotel for him.

She saw the hurt in her eyes, the love that brimmed out of her eyes pouring out all those unshed guilt that she left him.

Asawari turned and grasped her arm and asked her shaking vigorously "Khushi..Please I plead you if not for you at least for kids. Just say it. I will be there for you always" and heavily sighed.

Khushi knew that today her Icy wall that kept her feelings bounded has broken and she needed someone to know her pain. To cry on their shoulders and get rid of this burden and let the agony go.

"Asawari, you are right. He was Arnav, my love, my husband and Father of my kids but he doesn't know I am still alive let alone he knows He is the Father of my beautiful kids. I want to be with him but I can't and do you know why I am hiding with the fake identity of Sheetal, let me tell you".

"Actually while we were coming to Delhi in the bus from Darjeeling, we got into an accident and Sheetal was the girl who was mistaken to be dead Khushi, we became friends in the bus and I gave my shawl to her because of the cold weather while Arnav was in deep slumber. Thus after accident everyone assume her as Khushi. I never got to clear the misunderstanding as I was scared and worried for Arnav".

"He was seriously hurt on his head and I was panicking and managing money by selling my jewels but when I came back to hospital I was informed that his family has taken him to sophisticated hospital in Delhi for his better treatment. I was relieved and wander a week to find him but then when I reached his house I witnessed he was getting engaged" and with that a tear made its way down her pale cheek.

"Arnav was getting engaged to pia and Shyam to Anjali. I knew that he was doing this for his sister's Love for Shyam and if she goes in Arnav's life back then Arnav would be torn between me and his sister. These two weeks he was with me, were the most beautiful days of my life to cherish".

"I understood I can't be in his life, I had my share of Love that is enough for me for my life time and I left and settled in London. But he had given me an unexpected gift, my kids. I don't feel bad for myself but my hear shatters when my kids says that where is their father like their friends have".

"I will tell you how it all started".

Oh no...I thought ATLEAST now Arnav will get to see Khushi n his kids ...so that his restless soul would get relief...but no...he again missed her... They r probably most unlucky lovers... But I guess they had enough sorrow n agony... They along with Kids have the right to happiness...
