I don't think it needs too much talent to host shows like jhalk or dance/song-based programme
just praise the contestants a little bit and
after the performance of the contestants just say
'woh that was a mind blowing/superlative/sensuous/jabardast etc.etc. performance'
then ask the judges
'judges, apko ramu kaka ki yeh performance kaisa laga?
and then
'judges, scores please'

a few latka and jhatka
you become a good anchor...
so there is no doubt RD can do a good job in such type of shows hosting
and to help you out, most of the dialogues are also scripted...
