CHAPTER 4: Bound to Her
A pure-blood vampire princess
Rey kept looking at Swayam, as well as Vicky and Neha. Trying to process, trying to think if they should laugh at his joke? Or feel sympathetic that he might've lost it. But seeing his completely straight gentle face and his truthful, loyal eyes staring at Kriya, who is now covered her face with her both palm, shivering little, none of them could utter a word of disbelieve.
And after a few more moments, Vicky broke the silence,
"Pureblood?"
"Purebloods. The strongest one in our kind."
"Our kind?"
"Ahh, where are my manners!" Swayam quickly moved his right fist over his chest and gave his beaming smile at them,
"My name is Swayam Shekhawat, am Kumari's rakshak.. Umm, I mean, Royal Guardian. It's a pleasure meeting you all."
"y-you, you are, also a, a ...?"
"A Vampire, Yes!"
"Vampire, as in, vampire, like, like, Edward Cullen?"
"We don't SPARKLE!!!"
The new voice made all of them gasp in shock, well, most of them...
Neha tried to find security in Vicky's arms who was even though scared, but tried hard not to show it while Rey moved away from Swayam at once and stood in front of Kriya, blocking her way as his eyes stayed on the person leaning against the terrace's wall.
Sharon rolled her eyes watching their immediate response and tilted her head a little,
"Relax, I don't bite... I mean I do, but I won't bite you now or-"
"That'll do Sharon..."
Swayam moved from his position and touches Rey's shoulder little while speaking softly, his face showed the same gentle expression as it was a minute before and his voice was as sweet as ever, not effected by Sharon's presence,
"There's nothing to get scared of. We will not cause any harm, am giving you my words."
Rey couldn't believe whatever he was watching or listening. The girl who was scared out of her wits a while ago because of Sharon is now sitting relaxed, silently and the guy who seemed like would jump to take a bullet for her is also seemed pretty unnerved at Sharon's presence. And most importantly, they are claiming to be vampires. Really..? Like, really..? Vampires??
"What the hell is going on now?" a frustrated Rey snapped. It was too much for him, he couldn't take it anymore.
"Isn't she supposed to be scary? Isn't she supposed to be threatening you Kriya? And aren't you like, way too scared of her? So much that you decide to do some suicidal trick? Hey, answer me?"
He snapped at Kriya with all the anger he can manage, only to make Kriya turn her face away and inhale deeply... and after she let the breath come out, her face turns firm again, and her gaze fell upon Swayam.
"Am doing what I had to do, and after I collapse, take me back Sharon. Once am done with this stupid self, nothing can bother me anymore."
Rey couldn't speak anymore, here he was demanding answers, and she is giving him a hell lot more questions to ask?
But it seemed he was not the only one frustrated there. The lady of the evening snapped soundly,
"I've been looking for you, like, how many days again? And here you think you will just tell me to take you back and I will? Never. Am not like him Kriya, who'll listen to whatever you have to say, do whatever you want. I want answers, I need to know why you left, like that. And I..."
Sharon's constant flow of words interrupted as Swayam's warm hands covered her mouth and pulled her close to his chest with another wrapping around her, making her back pressed against his chest. That quick gentle movement was enough to stop Sharon and take her mind off of the topic for now. Swayam kept his eyes on Kriya as he chose his words carefully,
"Are you sure you want to do this Kriya? Think again. Your friends will not remember you, not who you really are, neither this evening. They will only remember you as the girl they used to know four years ago. The girl who left from their lives four years ago. Can you do that, Kriya? Will you do that?"
Kriya shut her eyes tightly; she knew what Swayam was doing, she knew he is trying to make her doubt her decision, he wanted to make her realize that if she erase their memories, not only they will forget tonight, but also she will not be able to take the pressure, her body will give up and there's no way she can be saved.
What choice do I have anyway!
"What are you talking about? It's not your decision to make?"
Swayam smiled winningly in his mind as soon as Rey spoke, yes, he was waiting for this boy's reaction only. He stared at Rey while Rey gripped Kriya's shoulders hard with his hands,
"We don't want to forget this night Kriya."
His lips could manage only that. There were so many other things he wanted to say, wanted to ask. But if that guy Swayam's words were right, this is what important right now. She can't disappear from his life again.
Kriya shivered under his grip, under his tight hands. Can she really escape from his arms, can she ever be able to do what she thinks is right if he keeps staring at her like that?
Her trance broke Vicky supported Rey's words.
"Rey is right, we don't want to forget this night or you Kriya."
Neha came and wrapped her arms around her waist, hugging her tightly.
"There's a lot to process, and there's a lot I don't understand. None of us does. But the thing we know is that we don't want to forget you, we want to know you."
Kriya's eyes moistened as her hands gripped Neha's tightly back. She wanted to tell them so badly, that how she missed her friends, how much she wants to stay with them, how relieved, how glad she is that they didn't freak out hearing that she is a vampire, or maybe they did, but, at least they accepted it, they want her back in their life. And she herself wants that too. But she can't, she had no way of staying here. She no longer belongs to the human-world. Her life had changed, her life is somewhere else.
Meanwhile, Swayam dragged the struggling Sharon captured in his arms away from the emotional scene and walked away towards the opposite corner. After they were in an out-of-sight-out-of-sound distance, he moved his hands away from Sharon.
The furious girl was about to yell at him but she get immediately stopped and frozen at her spot as his lips meshed hers, as soon as his hand moved from her mouth.
Sharon was caught off-guard, and subconsciously she responded, but as soon as she realized what he was doing, she pushed Swayam away from her.
"What the hell! What do you think..."
"Ohh how I missed it, Sharon." A goofy smile crossed Swayam's angel-like face as he again caught her off guard with his ohh-so-sweet voice.
"Swayam!"
"Yes Sharon!"
"Stop it!"
"Stop what? Kissing you?"
"Shut up!"
"Really?"
And she threw a punch at him at once. Swayam dodged it with perfect efficiency and smirked,
"please, don't tell me you actually thought you can hit me!"
"What the hell, can't you just pretend to get punched?"
"I'll keep that in mind next time!"
"What are you thinking? It's illegal no, telling them about us?"
"I think you did a pretty good job at that all on your own, downstairs!"
"Aughh.."
A frustrated Sharon turned her face away and decided to stay silent. Swayam smirks again, and then with a sigh he moved and stood in front of her.
"Sharon, what do you think you were doing? Yelling at her? You saw what happened downstairs when you did that, right? She is not stable Sharon, Kriya needs to be handled gently."
"Why do you care so much? Is that love am sensing? Swayam, are you in love with Kriya?"
Swayam's face showed various kind of emotion at the statement. Much to her shock, he kept smiling and shaking his head while her hands gripped the front of his shirt tightly,
"Hey, answer me, are you in love with her?"
no, no, she can't let Swayam be in love with someone else. For god's sake, she doesn't even know Swayam loves her or not, he is only toying with her or has some real feeling for her, and here's already a chance that Kriya and Swayam..? No... Just No...
Swayam's hands held her gently and he leaned his face towards her.
