Is the IF newsbot a copyright violation?

The newsbot that IF makes use of looks exactly like the newsbot that was developed and published by sfd19 from students4democracy.org back in 2005. The descriptive text, the formatting and also the style is identical.

It looks like IF would use copyright protected code without giving credits and also violate the terms of use.

Are you?

India forums will not violate any rules knowingly. Please be patient as we find out more about it

Most of the forums use the same formatting and script. As per our knowledge, the newsroom is completely clean and has no issues on violations of any copyright.

But do feel free to contact Vijay, our technical admin and owner for this site.

Meanwhile we will find more about this and get back asap.

india-forums.com is illegally using a copyright protected script that was written and published by myself in January 2005. By violation of the acceptable usage policy, india-forums has deliberately and illegally altered that script and removed required parts of the code from it. This is dead certainty and can be proven beyond doubt. The owner of india-forums.com, Vijay, has been informed.
