Yes, I am writing about the same scene that the whole forum is drooling about...nothing else. The reason being it was the most outstanding, the most memorable, the most impactful five minutes. The scene that will stay with us.
But what stuck with me, what touched me was...his hesitation. At every step, at every stage, he paused. Not expected from a man who has been sleeping with (know sounds vulgar but that's a fact) a mistress for the past eight years..right?? At some level that fact rankles, affecting our respect for the man. His mindful and bashful nervousness highlighted his intrinsic decency. The man knows how to respect a woman and her wishes. In spite of his rude demeanor, gruff and unpolished attitude, lack of manners...the man turns out to be a gentleman and an officer!!
Be it is hesitancy when he was lifting her up, mindful of plenty, of not being inappropriate or taking liberties. Or his ultra carefulness when he realized that taking the bandage off was paining her. The way he actually raised his hand in nervousness before setting out to give his all to the delicate task at hand was...mindblowing (Ashish it was all you..all the way)! He was so mindful of her agony, so careful about the way he went about removing that dupatta. My heart just melted at the sight of the hard man being so cautious about not giving an iota of unnecessary pain to her. His diligence at his task was so endearing. Next came his shy reluctance in lifting an inch of her ghaghra. At that instant he looked like a little boy knowing he was doing something wrong, yet he didn't have a choice. His intentions were pure, but he was still aware of her honor. There was a huge amount of underlying respect for a woman and her dignity in that pause. He realized at the back of his mind, in her conscious state she wouldn't let him, that he was over stepping her set boundaries somewhere, and that nervousness made my respect for him turn up notches.
The lengths he went to to ensure that he does not wake her up or inconvenience her in her sleep were so effing cute. Such delicacy for his woman !!His eyes constantly on her every fleeting expression, totally lost in her, keyed in with her every unconscious feeling, he was pausing at every action nervously mindful of her rest. Kudos to the heartless man who cared so softly, so gently, and so hesitatingly for a sleeping woman, keeping her pain at bay and her dignity intact. The sign of a true man indeed!!
P.S...The realist woman of the world in me hates fawning over any actor...but Ashish was phenomenal. It was just him, his body language and his expressions!! 👏👏👏
