The courage of his convictions: There is a perceptible hesitation, for no one should underestimate what this gesture costs him. What he is about to do would be taken as butparasti (idol worship), specifically forbidden in Islam. If anyone had spread the word across the Mughal sultanate that their Shahenshah had paid obeisance to a Hindu but, there would have been an uproar, and not only among the maulvis. Even decades later , when he had long been the all powerful Emperor Akbar, his initiative to found a syncretist religion merging Islam and Hinduism, the Din-e-Ilahi, had attracted widespread criticism. Now he is, as yet, nowhere near that level of unquestioned domination, so the risks are that much more.
Still, he does not hesitate, for in Jodha's troubled and angry gaze, he sees not just the woman whose acceptance he craves, even if only subconsciously as yet, whose barely veiled hostility hurts him like nothing ever before.
He sees the whole of the Hindustan that he wishes to unite under his rule, not by brute force, but thru willing acceptance. Na ki shamsheer ki dhar se, par rishton ke reshmi dhagon me piroke. To win the heart of this Hindustan, he knows now what he has to do. For them to accept him, he has first to accept them.
Jalal already has the breadth of spiritual vision, the inner clarity, that lets him see his Allah in the Devi. Not many even today, anywhere in the world, are able to do that, for all the current politically correct patter about accepting all religions. And in the 16th century, when Protestants and Catholics were massacring each other and burning each other at the stake all over Europe and in England, for the Emperor Jalaluddin Mohammed to demonstrate such purity of thought, such innate humanisn, was nothing short of a miracle.
And this is not just because of Jodha, for even if she might have been the catalyst for this specific act of his, she is not the sole motivation for it. It is all about something infinitely bigger and grander, Jalal's vision for this vast land that he hopes to rule one day in peace and prosperity.

Dear friend,๐
This is your 3rd thread, for the same reason.
It seems from this post, that you will raise the question again, if Jalal commits the sin / shirk / Gunah-e-kabira of worshipping a God of other religion, which i am sure will happen again.
I understand your point, as Islam does not permits such form of worship. I do agree with the religious aspect.
I rarely comment on religious issues. But commenting today, since, the point to be remembered in this case was, the person under consideration is none other than Akbar - the insan-e-kamil of that age. ๐ The man who practiced rationalism in that age, when NO ONE even thought of it. The man who gave the idea of Tauhid-e-ILLAHI.
In your second post, you mentioned some books. But, buddy, there is ENORMOUS difference between, so called books and chronicles.๐
Also, if you do not have faith in these chronicles as well. Then, some SURVIVING EVIDENCES, would work here. Action speak better than words.๐
1. Today also, Diwan-i- Khas, which Akbar constructed in Fatehpur Sikri, has a Hindu Chamber for worshipping in the west corner of the building, on the first floor. This was used for worshipping. Mentioning this, coz this evidence survives till date.
2. There is mention of 144 revolts in chronicles, out of which more than 72 revolts happened due to Akbar's acceptance of beliefs of Hinduism and allowing it to be practiced in close Hindu circle.
3. Even, adorning saffron tika on his head was opposed..! Finally, i repeat what i said before also, he did participate, in prayers of his Hindu Wife..!...
This was history, with only few examples, from chronicles not the books.๐. Just to show image of Akbar is not getting tarnished, by such acts. The question of insult to a religion should not arise here. ๐
Coming to serial. Jalal did that for his beloved one, whom he saw, close to death. He didn't want to leave any stone unturned, to get her back from the jaws of death. Finally, he did something his heart consented to, for there is nothing big than the testimony of heart. Though, Hinduism has no such restriction, Islam has, but him doing this act, going against his religion, should be seen as an act, where he surpassed all restrictions, just for sake of a life. Can something be more divine and pious than this.?๐ I don't feel Allah, or Muhammed Sahab, you gave us the gift of Islam would call this an action, which made Akbar a Muslim of less stature. A person who rose above all bondages for a noble cause..!.
I am writing this, because, such scenes on show are bound to repeat in future also.
SO I AM WRITING THIS.
The point you raised was correct.
But the person on which this was being applied, was not justified, buddy . ๐
We have mentioned this time and again not to bring in religious discussions in the forum which can hurt the sentiments of other members and result in religious fights
This is a work of fiction and a disclaimer is always put at the beginning of the show ...
Also in history , Akbar is someone who is known for giving respect and believing in all religions ... If you still want to debate on historical facts , then we already hv a sticky for it where u can put up your query but with proper facts .. Here ..::Doubts & Discussions about Historical facts::..
