Dear friends,
As I understand it, this Sati story is a different one than the first Sati. I read somewhere that Sati was born and sacrificed herself at least 10 times before Parvati was born. That the mund-maala Shiva wears consists of the skulls of those 10 Satis.

So each of the 10 Dakshas was from a different manvantara or a different yuga?

What is the connection to kaala-chakra with this? Kaala (time) is a chakra (wheel) - it keeps repeating itself? I guess this is like the Neo anamoly in the Matrix - several Neos came and went until the one came who sacrificed himself to bring about peace with the Machines... [the makers of the Matrix trilogy have famously acknowledged drawing inspiration from Hindu and Buddhist philosophy.]

So we are seeing the story of another Shiva-Sati...

Thoughts?
