20: Resolutions
Arnav had had enough. For the past two weeks, he saw his wife disengage herself from his life, bit by bit. He saw the bas***d, Lucky, openly flirt with his wife, and one day even came across Lucky declaring his past love for Khushi, and how he was heartbroken when she left. He did not stay to hear Khushi's response, because he knew that if Khushi did not refuse the Peanut's love, he, the great ASR, would be heartbroken and unable to live.
A week later, they all stepped back on the bus, heading towards Chandigarh. Khushi and Nani would miss Lucknow, and had a teary good bye. Azmih also had a teary goodbye, since she had been chopping onions in the haveli kitchen. And NK had a teary goodbye cause he was poked in the eye by Azmih, who was angry that NK made her cut onions while he cut the tomatoes.
Arnav left with a new resolution - no matter what happened, he would earn Khushi's trust and love. He knew it would be a long battle, but he was not one to lose.
Khushi left with a new resolution too - she was a stronger woman now, and she would restart her Dabba service and become independent, so that by the time her marriage ends, she would have her own identity and purpose; she was no longer living for her family, who had only taken things from her, but now she was going to live for herself. She would let any obstacles come in her way - even if it was Arnav or Shyam.
NK and Azmih promised to look out for Khushi and help her when she needed it.
In conclusion, a storm was coming. Things were changing, but were it for better or for worse?
Arnav slid on the seat next to his wife's and put his arms around her. His wife continued to stare out the window, unmindful of his presence.
