When did JW fall into Pia's trap

Today while watching US episode where JW gives BAni a chain in place of mangalsutra I kept wondering whether JW was playing the game then.

I felt really bad for BAni when she said if u are with me no one can harn=m me or our marraige. Was JW trying to give hint about bad omen? & his real feelings for Bani rather than what she was going to se later.
