hey everyone😃

something just came into my mind and i would really like to hear your views about this.

im sure everyone of us at this forum must have lied in their lives before, this can be for a right or wrong reason but my question is, "what is the border between the truth and lie and if a lie, when is it a white lie?"

peole lie due to many different reasons. some peopl lie because they want to save themselves from what they have done, they are scared of admitting what they have done, they know they have done something wrong therefore they feel the need to hide it or sometimes they just want to save someone else.

but it also varies in terms of your age...as a small child, almost everyone of us must have lied on things like toys, small small thing but as we grow up the term 'lie' is now a word with a bigger and stronger meaning. we understand that we should not lie because it can affect everyone around us...as once said, 'if you lie once, you have to lie a hundred more times to hide the first lie'

but then again, is lieing right in some circumstances? these may not be very common but it does happen. but then another issue comes in and that is where is the border betwwen a white lie and a propper lie?

ithis may seem a random post but i would really like to hear your views about it

awaiting your replies...

Me to u bears crazy (apologies if i have interpreted your ID wrong 😳, This way it easy for me to remember, copy paste make me feel distant 😆 )
This is yet another brilliant topic.

This topic can be handled in various ways both from psychological and philosophical points of view. I think it would be impossible to find a person who never lied and never told a white lie. It is our conscience that guides us and though there is a distinction, I believe t is so hard to define it. The intention behind the same lies could change based on a situation.

For example, if I am stuck in a storm with a co-worker of opposite sex.
1. I am a married woman who is unfortunately attracted to this person and has intentions of spending a cozy night. I pick up the phone and LIE to husband. That is a blatant lie. bad one.

2. I am a decent married woman, stuck with same guy with no intention of doing anything wrong but have a very suspicious husband, I make up a story - white lie- acceptable

3. I am a happily married woman staying in a joint family. Mother / father-in-law is a heart patient and he he / she is alone at home when I call. I just inform that I am fine and there is nothing to worry about and that I'll be at work until tomorrow (no mention of being stuck in storm to ensure they don;t get sick) - good idea, u can always tell ur spouse the truth.

Same scenario- same lie- different judgement ..

Bhagwadgeeta which is beyond me to fathom and comprehend, speaks of lies and white lies. We are not saints, but we can make sure our lies don't hurt others and also don't make us delusional..

hope u like them, they are from Chicago! 😆😆
