He sat by the river, gazing into the skies that were the fosterers of a trillion, tiny, twinkling stars. With his feet in water, he occasionally popped a stone into it whilst recalling the day's happenings, pondering over how or why she loved to enrage him. A mild breeze blew, leading his exhaustion and perspiration away and in paving his resilience to worldly events and it didn't come as a surprise that he didn't notice the gentle one's arrival until she came and sat next to him quietly and tried to observe what he was up to and then flabbergasted, turned to him for assistance.
"Lagta hai mahan Dasyu Puru soch-vichar mein magna hain. " she declared, knocking him out of his memory lane.
The established fact that his mind had been hovering around her had him flustering in no time and when she looked at his handsome, moonlit face, she was left wondering.
"Thinking of the princess of your dreams, were you?" she quizzed, with her cheeks slightly puffed up.
Puru was naturally shocked at the recent advances in her facial expressions and her remark that quoted jealousy but decided to irk her further in the face of it.
"Ji!" he exclaimed, "I really can't wait to bump into her when we're both somewhere close to the reality after she descends from paradise." he dreamily added.
"I see," she uttered, getting up "And I think I must take your leave now."
On the inception of her walking away, Puru realized he hadn't been annoying her, he had been hurting her. Shamefacedly yet dauntlessly, he got up and called out to her.
"Rukiye Laachi!" he yelled, observing that it his order was carried out instantly, "Honestly, I did have a damsel on my mind but then that happened to be you!"
"Really?" Laachi faced him at once as her jaw dropped a bit.
"Well, was just attempting figuring out why you love to have me furious with the blood in my body boiling." he responded.
"For metal to be cast into priceless artefacts, it must be heated first," She was stating the obvious in his opinion before she cited the reference "You are a metal too. You need that one force that drives you, that one challenge, the appeal to your innate capabilities to rise that has you up on your toes and into action."
Puru speechlessly looked into her eyes knowing doubtlessly that she was certainly right, knowing that she knew him better than he probably knew himself and surmising that she wasn't his want, she was his need, a friend he would never once want to lose and he at once wanted to know if she felt the same.
"Will you always be there to provide that push when I need it?"
"I think we'll always be the best of friends and that entails warming you up when you're ready to let go, guiding you when you're lost." she grinned.
They sat beside each other again and stared long at where the stars and planets flocked together to reveal outlandish patterns and as one of them lost its balance, she made a wish for a forever with him as he overlooked it to glance at her, desiring one with her.
