Achint goes dehati

You may be used to seeing her in micro minis or in a suave corporate avatar or more recently as a vamp in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii. But her cameo in Piya Ka Ghar might just shock the living daylights out of you.

For the first time in her career, she plays a rustic character. Following Sushmita Sen's footsteps? Maybe not. Because the role, like she insists, 'just happened to me.' She adds, "I know for sure that it will not be a regular role. But I found it very appealing as I haven't done anything of this sort before."

So how was it to move from the usual upmarket image to this one? "Very exciting. It is a strong character. Her name is Amba and she plays a loud, dominating UP woman in a basti. She is the unofficial dada of the area."

For Kaur who has been brought up in UP, getting into the skin of Amba might not have been much of a task. But surely she had to change the way she spoke. She concludes, "I did not have to put up any accent. I just made my Hindi harsher than usual. That's it!"
