After reading the WU I watched the show. Oh what a treat. CVs have clearly realised that Adi-Sugni vs Sugvi split in audiences is losing them viewers. They have also realised that TVS is core of the show and if they want to keep audiences they are going to have to give his character more scope that running after Sugni and saying "ek akhari bar visvash kardo". Hence we are being introduced to more facets of his life through which are seeing more of the old TVS ' strong, decisive, rational, and calm but with subtle changes. You can see the hurt/pain/sadness. Sugni's rejection has hurt deeply and has left its mark and the anger just below the surface.
His conversation with Adi reminded me of the conversations he use to have with Sugni explaining things to her. You can see they are both angry with each other but TVS is older and therefore self assured and confident in himself. Only can someone like that say I am "pyaar ma phaggal inshan" and say that his love is his life so what does Adi expect him to do ' give up living? When Adi clearly told him that he may love Sugni but Sugni wants to destroy the memories and remove him from her heart, he calmly tells him that Sugni may be saying that but in her heart she still loves him and wants to be with him because in her heart she knows that she will never find someone who will love her as much as he does. The way he then walks away and looks at Adi says I am not going to beg you to understand me or justify myself to you so let's go. I think he is ready to battle and may ask Sugni to give him/them a second chance but he won't be begging. Thank God.
I love the way he calmly made sure Niraanjan knew that he is fully aware that Niranjan is putting on an act and informed him that he had made the decision to divorce Reva.
For the first time, I saw affection for TVS on Jiji's face.
I am guessing that Mother and Brother are step- mother and step 'brother from the way TVS talked about the rights over a piece of land. (I think the ring he gave Sugni must be his real mother's). It will be interesting to see this storyline assuming the CVs make it logical and not butcher it like the Reva track.
As for the Reva seduction OMG!!!. He started being dumbfounded and then befuddled but when he pushed her away and in the subsequent pre-cap there was real anger. There is clearly more to the problems in their marriage than just her mental illness. It will be interesting to find out more about this assuming the CVs do it sensibly. It was interesting that the CVs used the same background music as they use to use for SugVi but it was really uncomfortable to watch as Reva's expressions are too harsh to be lovable and TVS is not interested.
I have to say hats off to Varun - the man is a genius. He conveys soo much with his body language, eyes and facial expression that the impact of the few dialogues is strong.
