You're gonna kill me for this 😆 but I kinda ended up skipping to the last episode. Watching it now and I love it!

But omg yes I totally agree. I feel like as a society (both Indian and Pakistani) we've have actually regressed in our "soch" and ideologies. DK looks a million times better than any of the PK dramas, even the best ones, that I"ve seen today.

Also If you look at some classic Bollywood like Guru Dutt -his Pyaasa, Kagaz ke Phool, etc. even some of Bhatt's old movies like Arth or Sadak (I'm shocked to have realized he's the same Bhatt that's producing all these shitty films today), these kinds of movies could never EVER have been made today. Everyone and their mother's would've gotten offended by something. Not to mention the material wouldn't have been "commercial enough" to make. Sigh..

Also Sahib Bibi aur Gulaam, how could've I not included that. *facepalm*

Lol... I probably would've done that too. But the earlier episodes are a lot funnier .. But this just got to the heart of the conflict.

Honestly DK is the best I have ever watched. Everything now days is so commercialized... This was pure heart.

Yeah mahesh Bhatt in the 90s was amazing . Even the original ashiquie...

I think society has become very shallow..

Yeah I love the conversation Zoyas has with Angie too.. Where she is like If I try and he doesn't stop? Then I will lose my word too..

That is so real to me... That's that universal conflict. And of course he turns up while she goes to his house.

Not even shallow, just intoleran I feel. In SBAG, the female protagonist becomes an alcoholic because that's the only way she can get her husband to be with her, she accepts she has womanly needs that need to be met and she expects attention from her husband, and that the lack of it is killing her. She was so aware of who she was and where she was headed for.

Try showing a character like that today, honestly. Even Zoya, from what I got of that last episode listened to her goddamn self and had some pride. Like compared to back then, Humsafar even though it was great and all had Khirad who got so annoying with all the shit she took from people. Same with Khushi, like as much as I loved IPKKND Khushi got on my nerves SOOO much.

It's just like people just slumping into the easier way of looking at things and aren't ready to accept that life isn't one dimensional. And that women are people too, and they can feel just as strongly and complexly as everyone else.
