Be it through his acting (werewolf, the lovable Arjun) or his dancing (Nach Baliye 5, Jhalak Dihkla Jaa 5, Dare to Dance), Rithvik Dhanjani never failed to impress the audience. With his excellent natural anchoring skills and his mantra Be yourself', the multi-talented actor has made his mark in the world of anchoring. He will be soon seen anchoring channel V's new show Distractions'. In an exclusive chat with Just ShowBiz, the ever humble Rithvik talks about his new show, experience interacting with the youth and many more.
Excerpts:
Tell us something about your show Distraction'?
The show is completely new with a fresh format. It is the Indian version of the US show Distraction' with Jimmy Carr. It is a 30 min quick episode where there will be 4 participants and all they have to do is answer some very simple questions. But when they are answering I keep distracting them which are very funny. For example, when they know the answer, the buzzer would be to slap the other person with a chocolate cake. The whole show is about having fun.
How was experience? How did the contestants react?
Very nice. We had some very interesting people. The best part of the show is I get to meet 4 new people each day. Unke saath masti karna, taang keechna and watt lagana. It's a lot of fun.
What was the toughest trouble you gave the contestants till date?
Honestly, there are not many times that I can count on but there was this one time when it was a last round contest between the girls and whenever they would answer the question, a bucket full of substance would fall on them. The bucket had cow dung, feathers, cheese etc. This was one interesting incident and I had fun watching their reactions.
It sounds like fun. Do you think the young audience are liking like it?
It definitely targets the younger audience. It's not much of a mind game. You can watch the show with your family and relax as it's a lots of fun.
Recently, you have hosted channel V's fest in Goa. How was it interacting with the youth?
The experience was awesome. Complete madness. The every levels were very high with the youth coming from all over India to compete. Loved it.
You are also hosting Yeh hai Aashiqui'. Which is the one story that touched your heart?
There are actually so many stories that touched my heart like the India-Pakistan love story, some love stories your culture and traditions doesn't allow like widow marriages, a dance story where the girl had just one leg and many more. Such kinds of stories really touch my heart because they give you a different edge, they tell you how love can go beyond just words and limits.
In a recent interview with Asha Negi, She said you were the reason why she took up the show Kathron Ke Khiladi. What do you have to say about her performance?
I am very happy. So proud of her. She is doing extremely well and I think she is one of the strongest contestants. What else do I need?
You have made your mark in the world of anchoring. How do you prepare before you face the contestants/audience?
I don't prepare. I just be myself. I never plan or rehearse because according to be me being yourself and being comfortable in your own skin works.
Lastly, Message to your fans?
Keep watching the work I am doing. I am trying to do many different things so that I can entertain you guys. Watch the show and I am sure you will like it. Give me your love like you always do.
