Yes, she wanted to quit the show as she was unhappy with the way the story was going as she had no role in it. It was EKTA's choice to keep her by offering her a younger role, she didn't put a gun to Ekta's head, Ekta could have let her go and brought in a replacement if she wanted to. That doesn't count as tantrum. It was a business decision by Ankita and Ekta- both looked out for their own benefits. Ankita got a plum offer and stayed back in the show. WHO WOULDN't? Everyone looks out for themself, she is not here to do charity.
If others were disappointed, they should have walked out of the show. SIMPLE. No point for blaming Ankita or anyone else over it. Taking the leap was Ekta's decision to convince Ankita to stay back, they should have talked to Ekta and negotiated about it. NO POINT blaming Ankita over the whole thing.
Ankita was actually offered the Happy New Year role AFTER the younger role was offered to her. Haven't you read the article where 'anonymous' people bashed her badly for taking up a BW film even after getting a younger role? Of course, they had opened their mouth and jumped to conclusions too soon-Ankita hadn't been finalised at all.
It's also known that she was trying out for the bollywood movie "Happy New Year" but Farah Khan did not choose her because according to [Farah Khan] it's [Ankita's] "short temper and rude behavior" (again not looking through archives to prove my point.. google it).
🤣Do you think a new actress trying to make it in BW would throw tantrums in BW or be rude to BW folks? Anyone who has to step in BW is always nice and sweet. Plus Ankita is a telly actress, I don't think Farah even knew about Ankita's image and all earlier as filmi folks don't really keep tab on TV actors/actresses.
Most importantly, it was not according to Farah Khan, she has never even spoken about this issue till date. This was just a gossip piece by Filmfare.
Acting is a business. To anyone who has tantrums, aka short temper/rude behavior... just because you are famous, it doesn't give you a right to act that way. You need to make "business deals" have good PR (personal relations) to move forward in your acting career. You don't hear about rude behavior from ASHVIK, Amitabn Bachchan, Ashish Chaudhry, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, etc... and they (excluding ASHVIK) are more famous than Miss Lokhande.
You seriously don't go through BW gossip it seems. All stars behave rude and hoity toity- Jaya Bacchan recently misbehaved with the journalists openly and Salman has been in trouble loads of times. But they have strong PR machineries/publicity teams to cover it up and put up a positive image of the stars. Ankita has no such team and that is why she has no one to defend her in the press.
Look, there is a difference between 'tantrums' and business ethics. Tantrums means putting your foot down and saying 'I will not do it and I want things done my way'. She never leaves shoots mid-way or not complete her work. She has slogged for PR, in sickness and health, managing two shows at a time etc and stayed on with PR at a time when all the younger stars, including her BF, left the show. That is why enjoys all the perks now.
Business ethics says when you have a problem, you do not make it known to everyone, make declarations beforehand, say bad things about the show or badmouth your colleagues. Business ethics says if you are uncomfortable about something, speak to the creative team and get the matter sorted out. Which is what Ankita is doing. There is a reason why Zee still wants her and why Zee still likes Sushant. They do things in the professional manner. Sushant never spoke about quitting till everythng was finalised and a replacement was brought in. Similar with Ankita. She is still shooting for the show, cooperating with them. The article says she is upset with the time slot change (obviously, who will bother to watch an evening show?) and is contemplating quitting, and the creative team is talking to ehr about this. They will deal with the matter sensibly.
And if she wishes to quit as this show won't benefit her anymore, Cv's can get another actress and replace her. So simple.
I'm not bashing on her... she's a GREAT actress. It's just her real person that's a bit annoying. I don't character bash.. I just call it how it is... and really.. if your show is tanking.. don't have a fit.
As for ASHVIK... they were going to leave the show a long time ago, because they don't want to do the 40 year old role.. the only reason they stayed on, was to keep their popularity, so that they can win NB6.
At the end the point is they are all looking out for themselves. An evening show slot is slow death for a show, does not benefit the show, so Ankita is probably upset. They did not write about the other actors but probably they all must be upset too. Similarily Ashvik did a U turn after making statements in press and stayed on the show to keep their popularity for NB6. At least Ankita is professional about the way she does it. She hasn't troubled the production house, she is still shooting and negotiating it out, she hasn't made statements about it in advance. She isn't bound to the show or obliged to the extent that she will keep working in it even if it airs at a time when there is no audience to watch it. The show benefitted due to her, she benefitted due to the show. It's mutual.
If any of them quit, I wish them all the best in trying to find a new role in the industry.
