Pavitra Rishta Written Update 21st January 2014

Soham looks at the wine bottle and touches it again but then his eyes fall on Naren whos playing with Sonu and Pranav. He lets go of the bottle. He calls a waiter and asks him to bring some food as hes feeling very hungry.

A girl announces on the mic that now they will start the evening's most interesting performance for which everyone has been waiting. Two of the most happening couples tonight, Ankita-Naren and Raunak-Kinnari and theres going to be a dance competition between these two couples! It's a tough face-off, competition is spicy! Now we have to see who wins! So Ladies and Gentlemen, please put ur hands together for the two couples!

Raunak and Kinnari dance to Ainvayi Ainvayi Lut gaya (from Band Baja Baraat) with backup dancers in the back.

Kinnari's parents watch with delighted smiles, supporting them. Sunanda also looks happy. Song ends, everyone applauds.

Naren and Ankita go up on stage, Naren kneels down and holds out his hand to her, she puts her hand in his, he kisses her hand. Ankita looks nervously at the people watching them, she goes to leave the stage but Naren stops her by holding her hand. He opens her hair clip and releases her long hair.

Kinnari tells Raunak, why are we watching this? Results were decided when we performed! This chawl girl will compete with me? No ways!

Song plays, Shaam Gulabi Seher Gulabi (from Shudh Desi Romance) ...Naren Ankita do a romantic dance to the song.

Soham, Ankita's siblings are very happy to see them dance. Naren picks up Ankita in his arms, the song ends, everyone claps for them. Ankita gets conscious and struggles, Naren puts her down.

The MC girl announces, As u all saw both the performances were just Wow! And its really difficult to decide who the winner is...and this difficult decision will be taken by our judge today, Sunanda ji! Sunanda ji, please come on stage! Please give a big hand to Sunanda ji!

Sunanda tells Ankita in a low voice, you both danced better obviously but today is special for Raunak and Kinnari so Im going to declare them the winners! Do you understand?

Ankita smiles and nods. Sunanda goes up and says, both couples danced very well, we all enjoyed a lot! But after all this competition means that someone has to win. Im very happy to announce the winners, Raunak and Kinnari!

Naren who had been making victory signs at Raunak looks surprised and disappointed! Kinnary and her parents are very happy. Ankita also smiles and claps, Naren looks unhappy.

Raunak and Kinnary go up on stage to take their prize, which Sunanda hands over to them with congratulations! Raunak looks triumphantly at Naren who looks away angrily. Ankita asks him whats the matter? Naren says, This is not fair, Attu knows we danced better, people clapped more for us! Our dance was much better!

Ankita says, everyone knows that but this is a competition! Someone wins today, some wins tomorrow, how does it matter? And anyway, Sir, today is their Sangeet so they shd have won!

Naren grimaces and says Okay. Sunanda is watching their interaction.

Raunak thinks, where did I get stuck? In what stupid competition am I participating? Anyway, theres stupidity like this in all weddings, people seem to enjoy all this! But now I have to find my entertainment and that too in my own style!

He looks at Mansi in a leering manner.

Mansi is telling Shashank, Tayi and Jeeju danced so well, they shd have won the prize!

Shashank is staring at Ankita, Mansi realizes that and feels bad. Shes walking away from him when Shashank grabs her hand and stops her.

He tells her, what u saw was correct but what u are thinking is wrong! Yes, I was looking at Ankita, but not in the way that u are thinking. Manu, I noticed one thing today, this marriage is a strange thing! This is a relation that changes everything! It breaks all illusions. This thread has so much power that it can keep any odd pair tied for entire life! Manu, when Ankita wasn't married, I used to think that I and Ankita can make a good pair! But that didn't happen! Ankita married Naren. I had problems with her marriage, I used to feel that Naren is not made for Ankita! This marriage is a compromise, it has no future! Sooner or later, perhaps Ankita will return to me again! But that didn't happen, I was wrong! When I see them today, then I feel that they are really made for each other! Just look at them, they look so happy together!

Mansi and Shashank look at Naren and Ankita talking and laughing together. Mansi says, Ur right, Sir!

Shashank says, Mansi I hope that people say the same abt us someday!

He holds her shoulders, Mansi looks up shyly at him.

Raunak watches them together. Hes standing with Kinnari who is on the phone again, telling her friend that her engagement is done, and even Sangeet function is almost over, of course if its sangeet then there will be song and dance, yes, I was superb! On Come on Babes, do u think that chawl girl Ankita was better than me? No ways, anyway leave all this. Tell me how is the Nagpur festival? Really? Who participated? Wow! I wish I was there! I would definitely participate! You all must be missing me!

Raunak listens to Kinnari's conversation with a bored face. Hes staring at Mansi continuously. Kinnari realizes hes staring at someone and asks him what is he looking at? Raunak says its nothing! Im looking at the food, it looks nice, cant stay away without eating! He leers at Mansi again.

Kinnari tells her friend on the phone that her husband is very greedy!

Ruanak says, Excuse me, did u say something? She says, No!

Raunak thinks Oh God! Where did Attu trap me! I will have to tolerate this drama queen all my life! Don't know if I can do it or not! Shes not bad to look at but she doesn't have that special thing that Mansi has!

He stares at Mansi who goes with Shashank.

Naren and Ankita go to Shashank-Mansi and he says he wants to ask some questions. Shashank says what questions? Naren says, Im not just going to give my sister to you. Shes my younger sister, so I will investigate u thoroughly before I hand her over to you! And Im older than u so I can ask u questions!

Shashank says, alright ask! Naren says, youre a journalist and u interview others but today I will interview you!

Shashank agrees, Naren asks him, will u keep my sister happy? Shashank says, Yes I will! Naren- You will never hurt her? Shashank- Never! Naren- You will be with her in good and bad times? Shashank says yes! Naren- if any problem comes, u will stand before her? Shashank agrees. Naren says u wont sleep before that? Shashank smiles, definitely not! Naren- when work is done, u will help her then go to sleep? Shashank agrees again.

Naren asks what else will u do for Mansi? Shashank replies I will do everything that a good husband does for his wife! I wil be there beside her in all good or bad times!

Naren laughs, why will u stand? U can sit also!

Shashank laughs and says, Nice joke! And the most important thing, our whole life I will be her good friend, not just her husband!

Naren says, this is my line, I have a patent on that! I always use that line with Ahana!

Shashank says hes very happy to see them like this! Naren tells Ankita, we are interviewing him and hes happy? Hes supposed to be nervous! What else shd I ask him?

Ankita says, this is enough, Sir! Naren asks, shd we make it final? Welcome to the family!

He shakes hands with Shashank.

Later, Mansi is talking to a girl, Raunak is watching her from a distance. A waiter comes and offers cold drinks to her. She tries to take it but the waiter spills the drink on her kurta. He apologizes, she asks where is the washroom? The waiter gives her directions, she tells the other girl to take care of Sonu and she goes to washroom. The waiter goes to Raunak who gives him money.

Mansi is going through the passage when someone calls her name. she gets scared and asks, who is it?

Raunak comes out from behind the curtains and shes shocked to see him there. He says, Mansi who else can it be other than me who is after you? You look great!

He touches her, she flings his hand away and yells, Raunak! He asks, why are u so scared of me? Being with me will be profitable for you! Look at ur sister, shes so happy in our home! Living a life of luxury! So if u want u can also get this life of luxury!

Mansi looks angrily and says, I don't want any luxuries! I have already told you, don't talk to me like that!

Raunak smirks, you girls are all very strange! First u say no, then u throw tantrums, after that u agree! Im not a fool, those guys are foolish who take a girl's refusal seriously! I have a very good offer for you, Mansi! You are getting married, Im also getting married! And I feel that marriage is a licence to show the world that ur committed to one person, after that ur free to have fun with anyone! And anyway ur future husband is an ordinary journalist! He cant give u anything more than daily bread. Whatever luxuries u want I will give you! We will keep on meeting, we will have a special friendship, u can marry Shashank but remain my friend!

Mansi gets very angry, she tells him, Im not that type of a girl, Ive already told u that before!

Raunak smiles, I know how you are Mansi! Your sister married a crazy man just for money, right? These are ur family's values! Im not even telling u to get married to me, without marriage u will get everything that ur sister has! Then ur honor and prestige will be intact, so will ur marriage! What can be better than that? We will only meet for our work, after work u go back to ur husband I will go back to my wife!

Mansi slaps him hard, and says, Raunak! I didn't slap u for ur dirty talk, I know ur that disgusting! I slapped u to make u realize what low thoughts u have for ur brother and sister-in-law! Raunak, u are very fond of making disgusting offers, today I will tell you! You don't understand anything straight, now I will talk to you in ur language! Now u will see how I expose u in front of everyone!

Mansi marches off, Raunak looks scared.

Mansi goes up on stage and greets everyone, introduces herself as Naren's sister in law. Today is the sangeet of this family's younger son, so I want to tell u all something on this occasion. Mansi says they are big people and she wants to talk about one member particularly, son of this house. There are many people with double faces and she wants to tell truth of such person. Raunak is very afraid. Mansi now changes her tone and talks about Naren. She says she has met many people, but has never seen a guy like Naren. Raunak has a sigh of relief. Mansi praises Naren and says he's best jiju of her. Ankita gets emotional. Soham feels proud. Mansi too starts getting emotional. Naren tells her you don't cry and calls her to him. Mansi hugs Naren and Ankita. Kinnari is annoyed with useless speeches.

Later, Mansi comes to Raunak and asks him what happened to him when she was on the stage. She didn't say anything about him and his condition is already bad, what would have happened if she had said everything. He would be thrown out of the house and the happiest person would be Mansi herself because she knows that is what he deserves. Raunak looks at her with anger.
