Pia IS a Legitimate Child

Some of you are under the impression that Pia is illegitimate. She's legitimate. The dictionary does say that a child born out of wedlock is illegitimate but there ARE exceptions.

"If a child was conceived during the parents' marriage and they divorced before the child was born, that child is still considered legitimate."

I hate differentiating children as legitimate/illegitimate, so I was hoping this would end the legitimacy talks. If anything, it's the parent's who are at fault. Why not differentiate them instead? Why give children names for their father/mother's mistakes?

Edit: In Indian and Canadian law Pia is very much legitimate as well.

Another thing is that the concept of legitimacy/illegitimacy is pretty much repealed in Canada. There are no laws about it. Whether a child is "legitimate" or "illegitimate" it's just stated that both parent's have a duty to support that child.

^ Pia was born in Canada, not India. Even when the legitimacy act was around in Canada, it was stated "a legitimate child is he that was born in lawful wedlock, or within a competent time afterwards."

This basically states that a child conceived in marriage is legitimate.

Then why calling Pari illegitimate? Didnt Arjun give her his name at birth? If father gives a baby his name, she cannot be called illegitimate! In any country whatsoever!

She isn't illegitimate anymore. Who called her illegitimate after Arjun married Purvi?

Lots of people on this forum are still calling her illegitimate! Although even in India that term is now considered legally unacceptable!

Basically, whether in India, Canada, or the US, Pia is not an illegitimate child. That was the purpose I made this topic for. Also to state that I hate differentiating between legitimate/illegitimate children. Apparently the UK law started giving titles to parent's instead of the children which I find really cool.

That isn't my problem then. The purpose of this topic was to make it clear that Pia wasn't an illegitimate child. You're free to make one to discuss Pari's legitimacy/illegitimacy. 😊
