Ankita totally fits the bill as per the character's description. Not a fan of Farah Khan's film direction, but who cares as it will be a great break into Bollywood to be cast opposite Shahrukh. I remember how excited Ankita had got seeing Shahrukh on the Jhalak sets where he had come to meet Madhuri. Hope she is indeed being considered and its not just a rumour coz Farah in a tweet downgraded Jennifer Winget using "sme" to describe her. I am sure she would not have had any problem if Katrina Kaif was the rumoured lead.

It is going to be quicker than we thought. Finally, the makers of 'Happy New Year' are ready to unveil their heroine and it will happen in days from now. The decision has been pending for over six months and it will be the outcome of extensive screen tests, both for newcomers and experienced actresses.
"Now that Farah is through with the auditions, she has left for Dubai for a tech recee. Though locations were finalised a year ago, her core technical team comprising the DOP and art director, among others, have joined her," our source confirms. "She will be back in a couple of days and meet Shah Rukh immediately on her return. By July 20, they will be revealing the name of the leading lady ."
We caught Farah just before she was about to board her flight to Dubai. While the whole team of Happy New Year is tightlipped about the newcomer, sources reveal that she is young, pretty girl who will fit easily to the role of a bar dancer. It is also said that Farah had auditioned almost 70 girls before she finally found the perfect girl for her next directorial venture.
Farah admits that she has finalised the lead actress for the movie but is waiting for her friend SRK to come back and see her auditions. Once SRK gives his approval, Farah will work on the newbie's acting and dancing skills.
Happy New Year is likely to go on floors on September and will also feature abhishek bachchan.
