It had been one month since that fateful night which left a sour imprint on everybody's mind. Where, Purvi did everything to stay away from Arjun, Arjun was no less, for he did the same as his beloved, much to the displeasure of Ovi. The fact that they were in the same class made it impossible for them not to see each other's face, they did participate and worked together for their projects, however anyone could see the growing distance between them day by day!

Though it was hard for Arjun to accept that despite all his efforts she couldn't be hers, he still decided to go abroad. Not that he wanted to move on or forget Purvi; that was simply impossible. He would live on with their sweet memories with his heart!

After one month of their exams, they were finally rewarded for their hard work. As usual, Arjun was ranked first and Purvi second. It was the last day of that term, while some would move to other countries to study and others would get on with a job. As such, all of them decided to have a beach party where everyone would be present.

Arjun didn't want to attend that party, knowing what happened in the last party they attended. His flight was on the following day, so he used that as an excuse for not being able to attend the party, however Ovi literally forced him, by using all sorts of blackmail and menace to make sure that he would come! And she was rewarded. This was her last chance and she would make the most of it.

Arjun came to the party quite late. Dressed in a black tuxedo, his looks were to die for. He roamed around and talked to some people, but he soon realized that he was bored or simply he didn't have it in him to enjoy these parties anymore. He looked around and that's when he saw Purvi, the first time since he arrived. She simply looked ethereal in her white saree. In fact, to Arjun even ethereal seemed as an understatement to describe her beauty. Even though they were at a distance, Arjun could see that she was sad and pained. Probably he could even see regret in those beautiful eyes of hers.

He shook his head at the direction of his thoughts. It was too late!

Purvi had met Arjun's maid earlier on. She didn't recognize her, however how could the old lady forget this young girl. She had told her in what conditions Arjun brought her home, how he took care of her and how concerned he was about her. Purvi didn't forget to ask how her clothes had been changed since she was in a different one in the morning. This made the lady smiled assuringly whilst informing her that she was the one who changed her clothes!

This made Purvi a little guilty for slapping Arjun since he took such care of her, however she chided herself that he deserved it for betting upon her feelings.

Arjun informed Ovi that he going to the beach to have some cool air. Deciding that this was the perfect opportunity, Ovi made her way to Ria. Ovi had already told Ria about the entire truth of the bet and so, they have been planning how to reveal that to Purvi. Ria, as planned brought Purvi, to a secluded place so that they could peacefully make her understand what really happened!

Purvi: What…what are you doing Ria?

Ovi: We have to talk to you Purvi and it's damn important!

Purvi looked at the serious face of both girls and gestured them to continue.

Ria: Purvi, what happened that night, you mi…

Purvi(Cuts in): Wait, if this is about Arjun or anything related to him then i have no interest in this topic.

Ria: No, you've got to hear it Purvi, this is ver….

Purvi: I said that i'm not interested in him ok!

With a tone of finality Purvi turned to go away when Ovi said in a calm voice;

Ovi: Arjun is leaving for abroad tomorrow. It's supposedly for 2 years but I do feel that he is never going to come back.

This made Purvi's heart clench in pain. She had tried to convince herself million times that she shouldn't love Arjun, however her heart never cared to listen to her. If Purvi was sad, then her face showed a different reality! She couldn't let Ovi know about her weakness now, could she?

Purvi: So, what?

Ovi: Don't try to act indifferent Purvi coz each of us here know what's the reality!

Purvi: Ovi, I doubt if this is another ploy of Arjun and you!

Ovi: Before accusing me, at least hear the entire truth!

Purvi: I don't want to.

Purvi turned again to go, however Ovi was in no such mood of letting go of this matter. She grabbed Purvi's hand and stopped her effectively from moving.

Finally some reality time!

Ovi: Listen Ovi, I know that I am Arjun's friend, however if at all he was wrong then I wouldn't have supported him. I know what you heard the other day was too much for you to handle. However, you have to hear me out today, coz if you don't, you will probably lose someone very close to your heart. Purvi, ever since Arjun has met you I have realized that he has changed. Changed for the better. Ever since he saw you, it was just you on his mind. In fact he has been in love with you ever since he saw you, ever since he called you 'peanut'. You were indifferent to him Purvi, that's why he loves you. Every other girl except you would throw herself at him, but you were as if from another universe. You didn't acknowledge his presence ever. So, we decided to change that. Arjun asked me to act as his Girlfriend, and we did, but you never seemed affected by this. Finally, fed up of all these pretensions, we planned our fake break up.

Ovi looked back at at a bewildered Purvi.

She continued: I tried to convince Arjun to forget you, but Arjun was Arjun. He would never listen to anyone. So…that's where the bet came. Ovi left Purvi's hand and continued; Arjun said that he would make realize that you loved him, and I claimed that you wouldn't. He was always sure that you were affected by him, and now i'm more than convinced that he was right. So we kinda had a bet that before the end of the Valentine's day, you would confess to him that you indeed loved her. And you did. But he didn't win the bet coz he lost you that day. You misunderstood us, but it was neither your fault. Purvi, if you think that Arjun was wrong in betting on your feelings then i'm wrong as well for supporting him.

Ria: Purvi, what they did is not wrong. Arjun did that just to make you realize that you loved him. You may have lied to me that you had nothing for the Roadside Romeo, but at least don't lie to yourself.

Ovi: Purvi, Arjun is going tomorrow, going never to come back. He had made him swear upon our friendship that I wouldn't say anything to you. He did this, stating that you should have trusted his love and I shouldn't clear anything more coz you should have trusted him. But I know he just want to run away from you so that you are not pained. Purvi, I told you everything and now everything's upon you.

Purvi(in a shaky tone): Ovi….where is Arjun!

Ovi: On the beach.

With that Purvi dashed to the beach, leaving the girls sighing in relief and high-fiving!

Purvi had been running along the beach for a long time when finally she saw Arjun. Sitting on the sand, with his coat off, he was looking at the waves. Lost, he never heard when Purvi approached him. She sat down beside him, now catching his attention. He couldn't believe his eyes when he saw her beside him. It just didn't seem possible after all that happened.

Purvi: Sorry!

Arjun: What?

Now Arjun was more confused than ever!

Purvi: I'm sorry for ignoring you when all I wanted was to be with you! I'm sorry for all the wrong things I said to you, I never meant it! I'm sorry for not realizing how much you loved me despite my heart shouting that to me! I'm sorry for not trusting you….. I never meant to slap you….but I thought that you took advantage of me and was playing with me and my feelings! I'm sorry for everything Arjun, everything! I love you Arjun….I love you a lot!

Having said that Purvi lurched herself to his arms, giving him a bone crackling hug. She was rewarded as Arjun soon reciprocated the hug with equal love. This was the moment he had been waiting for so long. When he felt the hot tears on his neck, he assured her of his love and whispered sweet-nothings in her ears.

Arjun broke the hug and pulled Purvi back. He wiped the tears on her face, how he hated to see these damnable tears on this beautiful face.

Arjun: Don't cry Purvi…it was just a misunderstanding.

Purvi: I know….but I should have trusted you!

Arjun: I know.

Purvi: How about amending that by being your pretend girlfriend……finished Purvi with a wink!

Arjun: No….i'm done with these pretentious relationships! How about being my real girlfriend!

Purvi: For sure! I will amend for whatever I did Arjun even if that costs me a lifetime. I will do my best.

Arjun: You don't have to….

Purvi moved close to him and snuggled in his embrace.

Arjun: Who told you all this Purvi!

Purvi: An angel in disguise….

They were comfortable in this posture when Purvi remembered something!

Purvi: But I am angry at you for one thing!

Arjun: What now?

Purvi: You kissed me the first time when I was unconscious.

Arjun: I did not Purvi…..we did not kiss or do anything. I was just going to but I realized I couldn't snatch your first kiss from you.

Purvi: But I am very well conscious now.

Arjun and Purvi made their way to the party hands in hands. Arjun had a huge smirk on their face while Purvi was blushing every now and then.

Ovi: Finally!

Ria: Yup, finally!

Ovi: After all breaking the oath was worth it!

Ria: Yeah, and they look so good together!

Ovi: They do!

Arjun and Purvi joined them!

Purvi: Thanks a lot Ovi….you don't know what you did for me.

Ovi: My pleasure…..So, Arjun, should I ask uncle to cancel your tickets. I'm quite sure you wouldn't want to leave now!

Arjun: I have to rethink upon that, but I guess our love is strong enough to bear the burden of a long distance relationship.

Ovi: I'm sure it is!
