The Leap & Purvi

I watched the SBS segment again and it actually left a bad taste. Not because Arjun slapped Ovi, somebody needed to have done that a long time ago, a lot of heartache would have been saved all around but because in the promo for next week, Ovi looks content and happy, like a cat that got the cream. She has got Arjun and her big tummy, she succeeded in driving Purvi away from everyone including her mother.

In one of my earlier posts when Arjun was serenading Purvi, I had written that Arjun will get away scot free (nursing a broken heart but to all intents and purposes, intact) and Purvi will be left to face the consequences. Arjun being the man, the tycoon he is, and Ovi's husband, no one has yet pointed a finger at him, it is Purvi that is being targeted by Punni, Ovi and even the boss at that temporary job. This is what the leap suggests. After Purvi leaves, perhaps after a sermon to Arjun to forget her and love her sister, Arjun will sacrifice his personal comfort and oh, so great love, and make a baby or two with Ovi to keep Purvi happy.

Arjun and Purvi have reached a point of no return with Ovi's pregnancy. If Ovi's baby is in fact Arjun's, he needs to make a life for himself with Ovi much as it would irk me to see Ovi being rewarded for all her misdeeds and nasty treachery. Perhaps pay back time will come another way, another time, I will take comfort in that Nemesis has a long memory. If it is not Arjun's baby, hallelujah! there is hope for ARVI yet.

I am glad Purvi has found Dr. Onir Dutta. Perhaps they are not really married, perhaps she goes to him to terminate her pregnancy and he convinces her to marry or pretend to be his wife and carry the baby to term. Whatever the reason, I am extremely thankful that she now has a cloak of respectability around her. No one can kick her to the side as "that child that was picked up from the wayside". She is no longer Orphan Annie to be used and cast aside by the rest of the family, she has someone, a husband to protect her, he is of equal stature to the Kirloskars and Deshmukhs and she can hold her head high even if her heart is breaking.

Purvi needed to find a man worth her salt, a man who would shake the living daylights out of her if she even suggested throwing their love to the wolves for some silly notion of her family's happiness, a man who would put her in her place and teach her what real love is all about, a man who would tell the world off and send it reeling, circumspect or not, if they dared to humiliate her. No, not puppy love that is ready to give up to "prove" love itself, or love that is ready to be a good husband to her sister under the guise of still loving her and doing it for her sake. To use Shyamala's words, Purvi needs a man not a pajama and I fervently hope she has found one in Dr.Onir Dutta.

Disclaimer: It is not that I like Arjun less, it is that I like Purvi more. He has it made, a cushy job, a "nice' wife, a great life!! She on the other hand has been chucked out into the cold. You may say serve her right, she brought it upon herself. Yes, she did, but if the other two are going to get off easy and play house, she needs to move on as well.

I love them both but yes I do have a softer corner for Purvi too :) I know Arjun has been raked over the coals for loving her and it really isn't fair but such is life I guess.

I want to see Purvi cared for, taken care of and most importantly loved without restriction. I would love for Arjun to be that man but of course if that turns out to be a fire cracker that never lights then hopefully this Dr. Onir can be the one who can shed some sunshine in her life

I am ArVi die hard fan want them see together but if they will show Ovi child father is Arjun them I don't like ArVi to Reunite.Better show Purvi happy with Dr Onir and finish the show.No ArVi no PR for me.

Of Purvi is saved from the humiliation of being an unwed mother by Dr. Onir then it is Onir who is Purvi's hero and not Arjun ...

Jhanvi, nice take on your ladli...Yes, Purvi can move on if Ovi's baby is Arjun's and if Dr.Whoever can make her happy, then good for her. Even if Ovi's baby is Arjun, it is yet to be seen, how it came about... At this point, it doesnt look like it is consensual :):)..time and CV's more so, will tell us in the future..It will be good for her to have someone stand by her in time of need, and stand against the world of Ovi's and Punni's. But, would he really do that, is left to be seen.

When you said the above, you are implying that Arjun is not all this. I have an objection to that. She will never find a man who can love her like Arjun did, who thought the world of her, for whom the sun rose and set with her, who looked into her eyes and said "Look at urself through my eyes, you will find yourself the happiest person in the world". Arjun is worth her salt and much more. Whether she was worth it, remains a question to me still. It is she, who did not realize his worth and threw him away. He has always stood by her, stood against her mother for her sake, when she herself could not stand up to her mother. When did he stand by and let anyone humiliate her? You are accusing Arjun of being a good husband to her sister under the guise of loving her. It was she, who has been relentlessly pushing him towards her sister. It is his innate goodness that she has taken advantage of time and again. There was never anything wrong or weak about his love, it was the fact that his love was a deewanapan for her that she took advantage of and used it for her mother's happiness. And also, neither is she nor he happy. His life is now a living hell now, for he cannot move on nor can we let go of the shackles that she put on him for life. His devotion to her is now, termed as a weakness, when once it was lauded. Not fair, Jhanvi !

By the way, Shyamala did not say those words in terms of Arjun !! She was always right, when she said Purvi was more loved than loving. And yes, if Purvi does land up with Dr. Onir Dutta, I hope she treats him better than she did Arjun in the end :):)

Even after all this, do you know why I wish they get back together, because, that is what would make Arjun and Purvi happiest in their lives. He knows that, but she does not. Time will show her his real worth and where her happiness lies. And, I hope, they get it despite all..
