MUMBAI, INDIA
MUMBAI HIGH COURT
Arjun bustled through the court to his client, panting. He was terribly late for his client's hearing and this would a deduction to his salary and reputation.
"Me lord, I was hindered by Mumbai's afternoon traffic. I apologize if I have impeded the hearing." Arjun white-lied. The truth was he awoke 40 minutes ago, still drowsy from the drugs Purvi administered. He rushed from the hotel suite to the court room and arrived an hour late.
"It appears Mumbai's afternoon traffic also affects appearance." the opposing attorney sneered, causing a stiffled laugh.
Arjun straightened his jacket, puzzled. "Beta," Mrs. Gorodia whispered under your breath, "your tie is on backwards, your shirt isn't tucked in, and' your pant zipper is open."
Arjun blushed and lowered himself shameful into his seat. Not in all his years of practice had he arrived unproffesionally to court. Like Purvi said, "There's a first for everything." he thought.
"Now Mr. Kirloskar, if we may continue'" began Judge Shah.
"If I may call for a ten minute recess, to readjust myself?" Arjun pleaded and dug his toes into the hardwood floor. His plea was denied and Judge Shah continued to find Mrs. Gorodia not guilty on the charge of money laundering and dismissed the court.
"Next time I won't be so lenient Arjun. I know you're a young man before an attorney," she winked "but I'll still have to tell Mr. Deshmukh." Mrs. Gorodia made her way out of the court, each heel clacking after the next.
Arjun stared dumbfounded. Did she really mean what she said? I'm a racy boy!? Oh god, I'll never hear the end of Manav Uncle's bhashan. he pondered. Suddenly, his phone buzzed. It was a text from Purvi.
Come 2 Juhu Beach in 1 hr. Wear shorts. ;)
Jeez, Purvi, he shook his head, these "cute" texts aren't helping.
3:00 PM
MUMBAI, INDIA
JUHU BEACH
Arjun had bought a pair of flip flops and khaki beach shorts from the local mall and left his suit in the car. I should've bought a jacket, too. Arjun commented. Cold winds brushed passed his bronzed skin, making his hairs rise. He scanned the public for Purvi but couldn't find her. He was about to text her when two hands covered his eyes.
"Purvi?" he began to feel the hands.
"Arjun! Tum aye!" Purvi removed his hands and turned her around. "Kaise ho? Still sick?" she put her hands on her hips. He stood agape. She wore a black bikini with red accents. Her hair fell beautifully to her shoulder blades. Her bangs were parted to the left and fell over her eyelashes.
Without hesitation, he cleared them from her eyes and answered, "Main teek hoon. Aur tum?"
"Bilkul first-class," she winked and dragged him towards the shore. "Chalo, lets swim!"
"Kya?! In this weather?" he chattered.
"Yeah!" she tilted her head. Arjun folded his arms, rejecting her invitation. "Fine." she ran into the water.
He ran into the water after her, "Purvi!" he yelled.
"Come on and rescue me!" she sang and fell backwards.
Arjun pushed aside the currents and sped towards Purvi. She lied on the ocean floor. Arjun gathered her in his arms and made his way towards the shore.
He delicately placed her on the sand and kneeled beside her, shaking her arms. "Purvi!" he shook her furiously. Purvi opened her eyes and winked.
"Dar gaye?" she arose and kissed his cheeked.
He pushed her back into the sand and folded his arms. She pulled him down and began playfully punching him. They rustled and laughed, settling in a tight embrace.
"I think I have a new favorite place now'" he extended a hand behind his head.
"Where?" she asked.
"Next to you." he smirked.
Purvi rested her head on his chest. He ran his fingers through her sleek hair, wanting to stay there forever.
7:00 PM
MUMBAI, INDIA
DESHMUKH MANSION
Arjun returned home in his suit. After the beach, Arjun took Puvi to this hospital where she changed into her smock and began her shift. He danced his way into the dining room, to be greeted by the Deshmukhs in the middle of their gourmet dinner. Manav had ceased scolding Sachin between each morsel and Ovi stopped munching away at hey exotic Greek salad. Their faces lit up at the sight of Arjun.
"Arjun, my man" Sachin arose out of his seat to hug his friend. "Deal with my dad, will you, thanks." he whispered patting Arjun's back.
"Peace!" Sachin exited the mansion.
Arjun took his seat beside Manav, "How was your day?"
Before, Manav could answer Ovi began, "Arjun, I missed you sooo much! We were supposed to see a movie. You know Dabaang 2? And I wanted to go shopping but Sachin or Baba would take me. Where were you, dear?"
"Well Ovi," Arjun shifted in his seat, "I has a case today and'"
"Till 7?" she exclaimed.
"I went out with a friend." Arjun admitted.
"Is this the lady friend Mrs. Gorodia called me about?" Manav butted in.
"Oh god'" Arjun buried his face in his palms.
"Lady friend!?!" Ovi slammed the table with her palms.
"You know what? I'm not that hungry. I think I'll just go to sleep." Arjun scurried out of the dining room.
