Hi Kool, can you give me your pav bhaji recipe? I have turned vegetarian since Jan 1st 2010. I have allowed myself to eat eggs only and that too not to be cooked in my kitchen, as I love eggs.
We found out that some Hindu Law (in India) does not allow to adopt a girl if you already have a daughter. So so stupid, but that is the fact. My daughter's names are Monica and Pam. Pam lives in India. My husband just loves her so much as he can relate his childhood to her's. His mother died when he was only 4 and his step mother was no less than Cinderella's step mom. We go almost twice a year to visit her and call her every Saturday night and she expects our calls as well...She is so pretty and a lovely girl. The whole urbanhood knows how we feel for her, Currently, we support her emotionally and financially.
My husband said to me that if a mother is educated she will understand the importance of education and will further leave no stone unturned to educate her children. Pam is so pretty that her aunt (my bhabi) would have had no problem in getting her married at a very young age. Before we met Pam, she was already doing all the house work and missing school and no one cared about her....girls like her are treated like 3rd class citizens in India. She calls us mom and dad and we treat her just like we treat Monica. We are trying other methods to bring her here.
Thanks Nishr for sharing your family. You have been very lucky to have wonderful grandparents who gave you all the love you needed to grow as a balanced individual.
Thanks to Unknown 18, I have seen the bad DIL in my own household. My mom was not treated well by her MIL (my mom is a very loving and caring person and loved her inlaws and the elders in her in laws that they knew only how to mistreat nice people...like Savita. So when my Mother became a MIL, her own DIL did the same to her.....She has been unfortunate twice.
Good night ladies...time to retire...tomorrow is another busy day at work....auditors are coming in.
