GEC Watch: Five Zee shows in top ten; Colors is the No. 1 GEC

Hindi general entertainment channel, Colors, is at No.1 in the latest week, as per TAM Media Research. The GEC has 294 GRPs, 14 GRPs ahead of No. 2, STAR Plus. Colors and STAR Plus command 23 and 21 per cent share of the GEC pie, respectively. Zee, too, has garnered 21 per cent share in Week 36, with 269 GRPs.

Sony commands 128 GRPs; its share has increased from 9 per cent to 10 per cent in Week 36. NDTV Imagine comes next, with 105 GRPs and a channel share of 8 per cent.

SAB and STAR One have clocked 5 and 4 per cent share, respectively; while Sahara One and DD1 have garnered 3 and 2 per cent, respectively. STAR Utsav and 9X have recorded 2 per cent share each, while Real's share has been reduced to zero.

Coming to the most watched programmes on Hindi GECs, five of Zee's shows have made it to the Top 10. However, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on STAR Plus tops the list with a TVR of 7.2. Balika Vadhu is the second most watched show, with a TVR of 6.5. Uttaran, at No. 3, has recorded a TVR of 5.5.

Bidaai on STAR Plus is at No. 4, with 5.4 TVR; while Na Aana Is Des Laado on Colors is at No. 5, with a TVR of 5.2. The remaining shows in the top 10 list are Zee's: Pavitra Rishta, Chhoti Bahu, Saregamapa Lil Champs-09, Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo and Aap Ki Antara.
