Well, in the sense that she doesn't care for her daughter that much, yes! She's not exactly a negative person...she's just easily manipulated and wants Radha more for the money she earns rather than as a daughter.

i feel there has to be a story behind radha and her mom..... either radha's dad died or left because of some reason related to radha.... or radha is not aai's real daughter, because no matter what yaar..... a mom can not be so cruel to a daughter and then be sooooooo nice to that nikamma son..... she wants money from radha and then she wants radha to help her in the house chores.... how stupid... i am sooooooooooo glad, my mom or none of my frirend's mom is like that....gosh i have friends who have single mothers.... but they dont use their daughters to run the house......and please be nice to someone who puts bread and butter in your mouth......

^^ I know. It's really hard to accept that people like her exist. Maybe you're right. There's probably some connection to Radha and her father's absence in their lives.
