just my thought
might be Kunal goes to diwaans to begin with , over hears surekha and Abehy's conversation and Sidhi's consent for the marriage.. obviously it would piss him off .. jealously, anger etc ..
also he might end up thinking , Sidhi said yes so that getting AC custody would becomes much more easier (since these days Kunal's brain is working in reverse order ) so his insecuritie and his fears will again creep up
He might decide he has to stop this marriage from happening by hook or crook and
then comes the pre-cap scene at the office where he might have planned in such a way that abhey would come exactly at the time when he is close to Sidhi and obviously seeing his would be close to another man any one would reconsider his decision and Kunal plan successful from his POV..

you are right everyday we wake up with a new suspense of whose going to say yes to whom.. really this marriage thing is getting on the nerves.. just want vamp to be exposed and kicked out and abhey to know about sidhi-Kunal and act as cupid rather falling for Kunal's love ..and all this is only to keep us hooked to show at the new time ...

but padmini why he has to stop the marriage for AC...it will be easy for him to take the custody of AC since he can prove she is a gold digger and cant be take care of my son...and he can get kapils help too...i dont think being powerful will change the judgement...if he wants to stop the marriage he can able to remember the so called divorce didnt happen btw them...but pretending so nice and lovely dovely with her not matching with any scenario which all of our frnds posting...dont know what crap is in store for us...
