People assuming that pdtrps is biased and not genuine with its calculation should consider it to be better than all the other channels posting just absurd ratings.

However this is still data from the site PDTRP. And that source imo is not credible. Even if that is showing Yumna’s movie to have done better, no it’s not credible at all. This is not a new query by the way but has been a question mark for anyone new who comes here and looks at this third party site at face value just because people here quote it.

If you go to its page it’s just an insta page set up by a “digital creator” with a following of 7K which doesn’t include any channel/PH or actor. Nor does it get quoted by anyone in the industry be it a channel, a PH or actors or directors ya koi bhi.

Next it’s not accountable to anyone for its posts because it’s not associated with anything legit. There’s no website attached to this insta page, no other third party to corroborate its ratings. If it’s not accountable it’s not legally bound to post anything legit.

Then comes the transparency. The channels, for all their bias, post the sectors and audience age brackets in the data on the post of their ratings. All you have to do is check how they sliced and diced it. For posts by PDTRP this transparency is not there on its posts as to how it collects its data. I have been told that they have answered “on occasion” how they calculate it but that’s subject to if you can even believe them or not. You can’t just not question it if they don’t bother being transparent on their actual posts? Especially if no other third party site exists to confirm their ratings.

Then comes the unprofessional aspect of the page where you see them commenting on various actors photoshoots and news outlet posts 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m sorry but these are fans who run this page. Legit sites don’t go around doing things like this. At least not from their main account. Aap Beshak check ker lain comments. Aik example yeh hai

I do recognize that having all the ratings for shows in one place given out like that is convenient instead of using your own judgement based on what the channels are showing you (it’s annoying seeing how they cut so much of the data), but simply going by this other site which has established neither credibility, transparency or professionalism is probably not ideal either. I think the case has been that people just accept it at face value because it’s been quoted for so long and so frequently - you don’t go and do the research to figure out who or what this page is - or perhaps it’s the convenient choice since it gives you everything together and in one place.

To each their own and I’m sure people who’ve been here longer who are set with the way things are will still trust it but authenticity is questionable since it’s run by fans. I’d rather judge the channel ratings and compare the data, even if it’s biased because they are giving me the information on the side to make my judgement on it. And it’s direct from the source. None assumed pdptrp is best here. I still suspect them because there's no justification on how they get trp data and who are they?None of the channels or media houses acknowledge them like we have BARC india, which is the single agency meant for trp data and every channel considers it as standard data.

Pdp trp is being posted here and is considered as truth and every other shows trps are being discussed based on that and shows are being tagged hit n flop then we have no choice but to follow the same trp list!!

I don’t care about hit or flop. I’m willing to discredit even Nayab ki rating if it means keh people start at least questioning what is being quoted.

Sad truth is keh koi Aur third party site hai hi nahi There’s not one legit place that can give you true ratings for ptv - all we can do is get a rough estimate seeing the cuts channels make on their data and get an idea keh kitni kam hogi asal main. Whenever there’s a void present - in this case ratings - of course some fan page will jump on it. Its just business 🤷‍♀️

At least Geo, Ary, and Hum are disclosing their data source and telling from where that source is taking the data, but this PDP site is not even disclosing that.

After BARC India made its data exclusive for premium users there is this page on insta & twitter that posts TRP of ITV shows. It's not an official source of TRPs but everyone considers those ratings authentic.

That’s not comparable to PTV na. Yahan kaun apna data exclusive ker raha hai for premium users? Who can then go and post it somewhere woh bhi aise? Other than channels nothing is authentic or credible. We can crib about it being sliced and diced how it is, but the source is at least authentic.

PTV channels post authentic data but every channel considers a different yardstick to measure it. I guess ARY & sometimes Geo consider all the sectors & proper age group to calculate TRP. PDPTRP posts those ratings just as they are, it just converts the ratings of other channels to the standard one.

When IM got 22.3 & 22.2 back to back as per Hum, that page converted those ratings into 19 & 18.3. I didn't find an issue there.

1. No they don't. They only consider urban data.

2. That's why it looks like PDP is biased against Hum & favors Geo & ARY.
