Good afternoon girls !!!! 😃

Shout out to Nina❤️, I will write about Mere humdum, mere dost as soon as I find time. I needed to get this off my chest.

Hope all of you are well and are at different levels of coming off of lock-down. Here I am with another one of my highly opinionated posts. Another YouTube recommendation, with no sad ending, so I watched. I am ambivalent about the whole show, I really don't know if I liked it or not. But, I stuck with it, as the young girl Pari had my heart in her grip😭. I was thoroughly disgusted with the mother, Saba😡though. So, here we go:

Pari, the actress is very cute like a doll👍🏼I felt that her pitch is a little too high, not sure if it is intentional, but for a young girl going through such turmoil, I was OK with that. She reminded me of the Indian actress, Madhu ( she acted in films like Roja in the 90s ). I liked how she showed the variation from an exuberant, relatively immature young girl with a touch of sense of entitlement when she is daddy's princess to a silent, subdued young woman who knows she is helpless, unsupported and all alone😭 That transformation is heartbreaking💔, her realization that she is no longer the apple of everybody's eye, but in reality is a burden who is being passed off from house-hold to house-hold😭. Gut wrenching.

I am so glad that they portrayed a young girl, strong, resilient, who after her initial recovery and realization rolled with the punches and emerged confident, head held high, graceful, forgiving, accommodating and understanding. She is no doormat, packed a good punch in her bark👏 when she is ruffled. She is feisty, straightforward and didn't mince words. She didn't care who she is talking to, when she is pushed against the wall, even if it is her beloved nana abbu, he had to bear with the bitter truths she had to state. Her love for Saad, her willingness to be there for him when he is going through tough times, her ability to give him space and time as he processed his grief, but not blind or deaf to insults she didn't deserve and her withdrawal from him when he hurt her deeply. He doesn't get away easily if he crosses her, no matter how much she loves him😃. OMG, a complete package❤️She is so refreshing. I love this girl to bits🤗

Kudos to the writer for bringing out the inner most turmoil of a young girl going through so much with such clarity and having her mouth the hell she is in👏I felt that it is not easy to articulate that angst and yet make it relatable to invoke empathy for that girl without going overboard. I am so happy, that Pari didn't throw herself any pity parties🤗 like her useless mother did😡

Her strength is in her acceptance of her reality, taking stock of the situation on ground, making herself adapt to circumstances, gracefully handling herself and people around her with not as much as a peep ( she only complained about her mother which she is absolutely entitled to ). Her innermost fear of being left high and dry with a baby in tow if something were to happen to Saad broke my heart to smithereens💔. Writer, please take a bow👏, for even having the courage to have a heroine mouth the lines " I don't want to mother a child "👍🏼 where every show depicts motherhood as utmost paradise. This writer went into uncharted waters and is able to make me understand the girl's viewpoint and melt my heart💔

She is a fighter and I love fighters❤️🤗I agree with each and every word Saad said about her and her strength👍🏼. She fell on her face, got up, cleaned herself up and continued walking, one foot in front of the other😭 I can't get enough of her❤️

Loved her relationships with her nana abbu, Saad, mamu and maami and her deep attachment to her daddy🤗in whose memory she always found solace.

More power to girls like Pari👏

Saad, I loved this character, as well till the very end. I didn't care for the actor, but felt like he did a decent enough job.

Saad is a adorable character till he went into his own angst of losing that terrible fiance of his. His relationships till then with all of his family and Pari have been pristine. He had special love, care and affection towards his little Pari, protective about her, thought of her well being and most of all, her peace of mind. He agonized about her physical well being, tadap gaya tha when she didn't eat, furious with that Harris guy for daring to molest her. What happened then?😲 All of that gone, when she became his wife? Poof !!! Just like that😒. I couldn't accept him making her a figurative punching bag. For a guy like Saad who appeared to be so sorted, even in profound grief, I wouldn't have expected his treatment of Pari. I am disappointed thoroughly🤔.

She is definitely not the culprit, he knows that she had been forced as much as he is into that marriage, she is in fact an oasis in his dreary life who kept away all the prying family from him. She had no expectations from him, she stayed in the back ground, gave him space, she knew her place, no demands, if anything tried to give him as much comfort as she could. This is his little Pari for whom he cared so much, I couldn't stomach the words he doled out to her at different times. I decided to not pay as much attention, once he came to his senses and back to his normal caring self. Loved his lines about Pari. Sad that he had to talk to her about the eventuality of his death, but is heartwarming that he didn't shy away from that difficult conversation to understand her fears and to allay them🤗👍🏼Can this guy get any more adorable?

However, I didn't like the the last episodes where he went back to blaming Pari for his useless ex'es death. I forgot her name. He blamed himself and Pari for being the center of his universe. I don't know how he zeroed in on the fact that her death is caused by his denial of her inviting herself to Pari and his happy time. I am sorry, but I can think of any number of things he could've, would've done to prevent her death. He could've refused to have that coffee with her point blank and then she might have buzzed off from that mall in time, who knowsI understand people can be unreasonable in grief, but yeh kya hain? 🤢Blaming Pari for something she didn't even have knowledge about, let alone her doing anything. And being as hurtful as he is. His justification that he said all of that because he felt at ease with her because he loves her so much is sooo lame💔 Dil ko choor- choor karke, pyar karein, toh usse kya hota hain?

I felt the writer went on a idealistic trip in the last episode about a girl child and how she is precious. I am soo sad that this is even a topic of discussion in this century😭But I know this is a very real issue for most of us desis😒

So, Saad in the end remained a plus/minus character for me. Nothing really bad, but woh bolte haina, you only need one drop of poison to destroy the whole pot🤢

Naana abbu, can I just take him home with me? 🤗Adorable and such a cute character. He made his share of blunders, especially when it came to Pari. When he realized them, he didn't pull the buzurg card, instead he repented and agonized with all his heart and soul and tried to right the wrongs❤️What is there not to like? This elderly man ( actor ) exuded security, we all need a naana abbu in our life🤗

Loved the maamu, not a man of many words but a man with a heart❤️His agony as he remembers his sister's words " the way back is closed for a woman who marries for the second time", touches your heart and squeezes it tight😭His genuine love and affection for his bhaanjee is heart warming🤗

Give me some time to write about the disgusting mother, Saba. I am exhausted now.

Finally, I am here to write about Saba🤢. A warning for those of you who don't want me to corrupt your mind. I hated this character with my whole being😡, so I have nothing but ranting in this whole post. You have been duly warned😃

To me, this one is a motherhood par dhabba hain. Both the character and actor are equally bad for me. So, some of what I write may be my own masala added. From the get go, with this character it is always somebody else's fault for her predicament. Initially, as we see her casting accusatory and pained glances at her brother and her bhabhi as the bhabhi claims that they can't support Pari's education. Sach toh somebody has to say it na? The whole marriage fiasco is so convoluted and confusing to me, as to how her getting married would solve Pari's khwaishenis beyond me.

But, once that deed was done, this lady went from bad to worse👎🏼The woman who was shabbily dressed and unkempt, suddenly appears in trendy appearing clothing, made up, hair down and a big, huge bag. I know I have to blame the director for it, but......👎🏼🤢How do you do this overnight, you get kicked out of your grief to trying to be pretty for a new husband? Yuck. And when she preaches Pari to be pretty for Saad, because you have to entice the husband, I got disgusted out of my skin. I am sorry, if I am coming off strong here.

The two reasons for her to get married in her head are that Pari and her have a place to live and that Pari's wishes get fulfilled. When on day #1, she knew both of these are not going to happen, what kept her in that wedding, despite knowing that she put Pari now in a worse off position than before, not only fatherless, but motherless too. I don't buy the " I am a bechari and all are out to get me" act, as a mother, you are never too much of a bechari to protect your child from whatever elements there are around you. 😡Did she stay in the marriage so she could pay for Pari's living expenses? Isn't there a more honorable way to earn Pari's upkeep? Ewww........ I don't know how I can explain and express my repulsion.

While the girl is constantly being called a yateem and even talks of sending her to a orphanage are underway, this woman aaram se is lounging and playing house with the new family. Cooking treats to gain acceptance, while her own child is starving from humiliation. Why would she subject her child to that kind of ridicule and humiliation. While her own child is talked to as an orphan, yeh toh chali to become a good mother, a good biwi and a good SIL and a housekeeper😡🤢Why? So, she could gain acceptance to her own child in that house. Kya baat hain ji !

The most repulsive moment for me is when Harris guy tries to molest Pari, chup chap se she sends away Pari, but doesn't spill the beans on Harris guy. Why? Because, the husband won't believe her😡Kaun sochte hain aise? Who cares whether the husband guy believes her or not in that situation? Sach toh sach hota haina, if somebody has no courage or conviction to speak the truth and defend your cub, then uss mother hone ka kya faida?😡She continues to tend to that Harris guy, so she can get the " best souteli maa" award while her daughter is dying from the inside.

Another repulsive moment is when Pari has her melt down when pregnant and dreads being a mother like Saba, she doesn't stay put to see her daughter through her grief, instead she goes back to her house to cry in style and throw herself the biggest pity party😡💔. Now, the fault is with her husband, mind you, not how despicable mother she was, but the new husband who hasn't accepted Pari as his child. Ewww..... Despicable.

In real life, I don't think any husband guy like Khawar or a guy like Harris will repent because of a doormat like Saba and turn into angels overnight🤢. Just doesn't happen. I think the writer completely lost it with this character. I am so glad that Pari is nothing like her mother. So, I don't know what the title, Parchayee refers to.

Rant over. I am done😃Please feel free to write your opinions. I know I have very strong opinions, I hope I haven't turned off some of you with my ranting here🤔

Have a good day !
